Me again! I work in a childcare setting and since I have started have been experiencing a heavy weight, intense negative feelings, and just a cloud over my classroom in particular.
Some backstory: I started there three years ago, the classroom was very sterile, empty and cold feeling from my first room partner (they left shortly after I started, but when they left a large part of the negativity in the center seemed to leave). In my first years teaching in the room I went through 10 room partners and the constant change and instability definitely left its mark on the room. I have tried to incorporate lots of natural elements, open the windows, have good intentions for the room but I still can’t get rid of the feeling. In the last few months, there was a massive divide among our team and we were separated .
I’m not allowed to smoke cleanse so I’m not sure how to get rid of this energy and to protect our class from outside negative energy going forward. I would really love a fresh start in the space!
Are you allowed to use music and things like wind chimes and rain drums? Even just ringing a bell or clapping your hands and declaring it a happy space may help. Play music that makes you happy. Walking on Sunshine, Don’t Worry Be Happy. Whatever.
I also like finding music on YouTube that helps cleanse the area. Awake Nation is a favorite of mine, but they have all sorts of music that has frequencies that can help your mood and the feeling of the room. There is House Cleaning music, a music playlist to make you dance. All sorts of things.
If it feels really awful, stay late one day, or go in early. Sprinkle salt everywhere and then sweep it out the door, along with all the bad energy. That might help too!
I can definitely use sound. We always have music of some type (singing, playing, instruments). It’s a class for 2 year olds so generally the energy they bring in is positive and playful.
You can get them to help! Tell them the room feels sad, and see what ideas they have. Children are magical! Have them draw suns or flowers or something. Finger painting is awesome!
@LadyOhno you working in a lovely and valuable profession. Sorry you are having this problem, I cannot add any more advice but hope you manage to bring the joy back into your room
I think I’m definitely going to try with the kiddos tomorrow! We made some beautiful butterfly suncatchers a few weeks ago and have them up in all of the windows!
Ooops said “dreamcatcher” twice. Meant, dreamcatchers catch negative energy during sleep/night, why can’t a suncatcher catch good energies to bring into the room during the day?
