Hi there! I’m picking my practice back up after a LONG time and am still very much in the broom closet. I have 2 in-laws who are practicing witches and the 3 of us talk about it at times, but that’s about it. No one else knows even some closest to me other than I have crystals, meditate, and like astrology…they don’t know the half of it!
My first intro to Wicca was back in the early 2000s when I gravitated towards that section in the bookstore for some reason in middle school and it felt right to me. My first book was Teen Witch by Ravenwolf LOL but that’s all I could get my hands on at the time! I was open about it. My mom I could tell was trying to be supportive but was very concerned. I got bullied in school and so I dropped it altogether by the time I was in 10th grade.
I tried to find my way spiritually since then. Tried different churches (was raised Christian and my dad is super catholic now), married my husband in a Catholic Church although he isn’t religious either. I declared myself an atheist for a while. Nothing seemed to fit. I found the holistic side of nursing (I’m an RN) and a yoga studio that puts emphasis on the spiritual aspects of it as well and that kind of set me off into new age spirituality and full circle back to paganism/witchcraft. It feels like coming home and I’m really happy to be here, especially since I’m practicing in private.
@eclectichealer Hello and welcome home my lovely. I’m Tracy from Bristol in England. Thankyou for sharing your experience. It’s hard to be ourselves when others don’t understand. But here you’re safe, and everyone here is truly wonderful. Take care
Hi, @eclectichealer! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum!
It’s great to have you here! I’m glad you found the path and can walk along with us. Have you found the Courses yet? They’re a great place to start on the forum!
If you have any questions about anything at all, just ask and someone will be there to help out. I look forward to getting to know you!
My name is Megan and I’m one of the moderators here at Spells8 It’s nice to meet you!
It sounds like you’ve had quite the journey - you’ve come full-circle back to where you feel most comfortable! I was the same way when I was a young teen in the early 2000s. I first found Wicca through a friend of mine and a Scott Cunningham book. I left Wicca and went to church because I was going through a lot and needed the community support. Eventually, I found my way back here!
I now consider myself a Celtic Pagan and an eclectic witch, though I’m starting to lean more toward folk witch than eclectic…but that’s another story
In any case, I’m glad you’re here! Feel free to make yourself at home - I look forward to seeing you around!
Welcome! I’m Bry, another of the moderators in the forum and an Eclectic Witch- just wanted to pop in and say hello!
It sounds like you’ve really been finding yourself over the years. So many wonderful interests and talents too- good for you! I hope you continue to pursue your passions and that you find everything you’re looking for. If you ever have any questions or want to run an idea/spell/etc by fellow practitioners, you’re in the right place! Make yourself at home here
It’s so nice to meet you, Alyson, I’m Marsha, an Eclectic Solitary Witch, from Colorado. I’m in the broom closet too! Please don’t be nervous, everyone is very nice here! I’m a healer too, I took several of the Healing Touch Classes created and taught by Janet Mentgen, RN! So, I’m a healer too, but not a nurse, I studied Computer Science instead. Welcome to the family!
