Back in the 1990’s, people often included time as one of the snake’s properties. It was a bit confusing, the way they often put it. I tried my hardest to figure out something which would help me understand.

Then I was able to hold a pet snake and watch it a bit more closely. Snakes curl and stretch like time. When we have fun, time runs quickly; but when we are engaged in something tedious, time stretches and takes forever. Shakespeare once called life a mortal coil, like a spring or coiled snake, curling back upon itself so lots happens in the least amount of time/space, repeating patterns.

I hope my ideas can assist others. Blessings Be!

I can see this being relevant, for sure! You’ve already mentioned the movement of snakes in relation to time, which is fantastic, so I’ll mention snakes in a mythological sense. The first one that comes to mind is Jörmungandr. Now, I’m not an expert on Norse myth so I might get this a bit wrong, but Jörmungandr is the sea serpent that encircles Midgard. He holds time in his power because if and when he decides to release his own tale, he begins Ragnarok – so, we have as much time as he chooses to give us.

Snakes also encompass the idea of the ouroboros. This is a general symbol of a snake or serpent eating its own tail, but the meaning behind it is usually one of the cycles of life, rebirth/death, and time.

I think you’re definitely on the right track with snakes being connected to time!
