When at home, I´m usually not casting circles, but when I´m out in nature, I will. For those circles I will use uncooked rice or dried beans or peas, something I know is safe for the earth and can be eaten by birds and other critters.

Please be careful with rice. When birds eat it, the rice expands in their crops and kills them. If you can, get millet, milo, or oat groats instead. Thank you.
