If you have been in the online witchcraft community for any amount of time, you have probably come across the idea of a simmer pot. But what is this pot full of ingredients? Well, it is exactly as it sounds — magickal (and mundane!) ingredients get added to a pot of water to simmer on the stove. They also increase the humidity in the air, reducing static dryness, and helping heal lung issues, colds, and coughs so prevalent this time of year. No more mini lightening or clinging clothes or shocking experiences when touching door knobs! Always a benefit!
I start simmer pots in the fall and do them all winter. I love how they make the house smell so nice when I can’t open windows for fresh air. And love that they put moisture in the air.
@georgia thats great info. I wonder if theres recipes that will also be preventative to ward off any health or other related issues?
@Mystique I started simmer pots about a month ago. I wanted to clear the energy in my house and it helped me to create a better connection with my house spirit
@misty6 Im so glad it helped with connecting to your house spirit! That is fabulous! As far as health, you can put anything you want in a simmer pot. I know adding eucalyptus or mint can help with lung and sinus issues. If you don’t mind the smell, doing an onion simmer pot helps with health issues as well. Those are the only ones I am familiar with, but I’m not really up on my herbal remedies as I should be with all my health issues.
I got my daughter started in using simmer pots at her house as well. But she calls them my smell good soup recipes.
