I’m new here and to practicing. I’ve pumped into magick off and on my whole life but for decades I was following a more traditional faith system. I recently fully walked away and yet still long for a practice. I’ve been drawn back to my love for the earth and for the empowerment I’ve felt from the witches I’ve known. I’m not interested in Wicca but I am interested in the craft. Thank you for reading.

I see you’ve walked away from a traditional faith system, what type of the craft are you looking into? Here on Spells8 there is so much besides Wicca, (although Angelic Wicca is practiced by most Wiccans here in England and I’m learning it, it’s really relaxing and therapeutic). We have Nordic Witchcraft, my main practice, Christian Witchcraft, Egyptian, Greek, Celtic, Tantric, Demonolatry, Voodoo, Traditional to name a few, and there’s loads more.

Welcome and Enjoy. Remember that you don’t have to be wiccan to be a witch and its okay not to be interested in the wicca itself. I’m all overthe place with what I practice within the craft a bit of everything but I can say take your time and find your stride once you are there you will be blessed.

I’m far from a Wiccan myself – if I had to choose one label myself, I’d say I’m a hedgewitch – but every time I browse the forum, I always find at least one interesting thing I can incorporate into my practice. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do!

Welcome @bonikastjames ! So glad you have joined us! I’m from Minnesota. I’ve been practicing many different aspects of the craft for 35+ years. I currently practice chaos magick and voodoo. Like you, I found Wicca not my thing. I’m not a big fan of following rules. Lol
If you ever have questions about anything don’t be afraid to ask. Like @tracyS said, there are many different types of practitioners here. There is always someone who can help you find the answer your looking for.

Nice to meet you TracyS, I’m being careful to navigate the system as I was pretty manipulated by my previous faith. I want each step to feel authentic and true to myself. That said, Iean toward Celtic, Druid, Earth magick, and other practices that are inspired by the elements and time. I love that it seems that finding your own way is very acceptable in this space, and most other witchcraft circles,

I took my buddhist vows in 2012 and my buddhist name is Janchup Pelozum. Meaning gathering enlightement. I have an almost daily chanting practice and meditation practice. I have been practicing magic since 2012. But practiced divination staring at 12.
I have been working on tapping into my intuition and developing my psychic skills.
This is an amazing group. I was feeling lost last year and this group has really helped me to feel grounded and centered.
