OMG I know exactly where you are! We only went once to Groningen, but we went to Amersfoort frequently. Oh how I miss it soooo much! I didn’t want to come back to the States when I was 13 and I tried to run away at Schiphol Airport and had to be taken back to my parents and my plane by the authorities. 
I’d move back in a heartbeat given the opportunity!
