It was early evening and we were watching the news. I heard something and looked over my shoulder to see this sweety at our window watching us watch TV. He waited while I got the camera and took his picture and then hung around some more.
Hello handsome bandit! Enjoy the play of light and shadows across the âsmall screenâ and one of our âwindows on the world.â May you and your family find peace!
They are adorable rascals. They steal our bird seed although they stay away during prime feeding of the wild birds. If backed into a corner, they donât hesitate to make a stand. We have to keep our smaller dog away.
Around here they are common and many have been made pets. But that only lasts until they mature sexually. Then they get into a LOT of trouble. There was one in a shop that grew up from a kit and would dare anyone to come near (including the owner unless there was food offered). It would do things like eat holes in everything, slowly unroll toilet paper and wash it in the toilet (where it promptly disappeared) go back, get more, repeat. It was hilarious.
They are definitely cute. They waddle when they walk and give off vibes of innocence (sometimes). But they are rascals and root through garbage and steal from bird feeders, We have to âraccoon proofâ our garbage cans else the Bandits will get in them or tip them over and string everything out across yards and roads. Right when we are maddest at them, a big female will appear with several kits with her and our hearts go out. They are so cute!
Only things that get in our bins here are Ibis birds and ravens or crows. My kids call the Ibis birds bin chickens but they are harmless.. Racoon-proofing your bin is smart i need to do something too as sometimes when pur bin is too full i end up having to clean the street where we left it on the curb thanks to the cute ravens. Racoons remind me of Pocahontas
