Before You Burn Palo Santo…There’s something you should know.
True, ethical Palo Santo does NOT come from trees that are cut down while they’re still alive.
Traditionally speaking, the wood comes from trees that fell on their own. Then the wood is left to sit and cure in the forest for years.
Look for Palo Santo that was harvested sustainably from fallen trees that were allowed to complete their life cycle before harvesting. Ask where your wood is sourced from and if it was harvested ethically.
When working with any sacred plant or wood, we have a duty to honor where it comes from.
