Ingredients:
2 cups (12 oz.) fresh unpeeled ripe peach slices (from 2 peaches), plus more for garnish
4 1/2 cups water, divided
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice (from 4 lemons)
Directions:
Make peach simple syrup: Fresh peaches are boiled in water and sugar to make a delicious peach simple syrup. Once that’s cooled, you’ll squeeze or press the peaches to remove as much liquid as possible. Discard those spent peaches, or save them for another use, like a peach margarita.
Make the lemonade: Pour the simple syrup into a pitcher, and add the fresh lemon juice and the rest of the water. Serve over ice.
Ohhh, this comes at such a good time. I just got some peaches from the grocery store! I don’t have lemons, but I have a lemonade water enhancer – that should work just as well I might make some of this for later!
Okay, so I made this, but I made a few adjustments. I didn’t make a simple sugar because the lemonade water enhancer is already sweetened with stevia. So, I simmered the peaches until they were soft, added a bit of the lemonade to them, and strained and smushed them through a strainer. Then, I added the peach liquid back into the lemonade. It’s pretty tasty!
