Power of Herbs

Hi I have a question about incorporating dried herbs in my spells and divination practice.

I have recently come across this nice crystal store and purchased the following if anyone can please tell me it’s best use and how to apply them thank you.

Rose Hips
Mugwort
Witches Grass
Catnip

The last 3 are dried the rose hip is the whole pod.

According to my herb book:

Rose hips - immunity boost and love

Mugwort - strength, protection from evil, healing energies, amplifies other magick, increase intuition and wisdom, and clarity of observation

Witches Grass - I have nothing

Catnip - cat magic, instilling happiness, attracting luck and love, and enhancing beauty.

I’m going to tag in our local herb expert @Mistress_Of_Herbs she will be able to give you lots of help.

I’ve never heard of Witch’s Grass so I had to look that one up. We actually have catnip and mugwort here in our Green Witch Course on Spells8! I’ve also read that rosehips and roses have similar correspondences in witchcraft, so I’ve included our Spells8 lesson on roses below, too.

As for Witch Grass, I found an article by Althaea Sebastiani that explains how it might be used in witchcraft.

Witch Grass is traditionally aligned with Jupiter, and while it enjoys folk lore usage for happiness, love, and lust, its power for hex removal and exorcism are where it really shines and proves the most useful for the witch.

As a very young witch, I learned to make braids of Witch Grass. These can be hung in the home for protection, or you can burn and waft the braids for effective banishings and clearings. This use is also quite effective in psychic defense, should you need to remove a hex or curse and don’t wish to send it back to the sender.

every day is magickal - Althaea Sebastiani

On a practical note, rose hips can be eaten or made into a tea which is high in vitamin C- good for immunity or to help reduce symptoms of a cold or flu. I found them to be a rather dry fruit, gritty with the flavor of a picnic in wind near sand, but I live in the high desert. Your local fruits may have more flavor.

@heather43 everyones suggestions are great.

Witch’s grass is an insect repellent. Also used to fend off negativity and its used in healing rituals. Wards off evil spirits. Excellent for protection.

Any other questions please just ask.
