I made some kumihimo bracelets (Japanese braided bracelets) for a friend and her family (4 in total). While I was going to sage them a bit (not to much just in case someone is sensitive), I wanted to do a snack protection spell on them. I have looked on the Spells8 website and searched on the forum, but to avail. Maybe I don’t know what to look for. Can anyone help. I haven’t done the Spelling casting 101 course and learned how to make my own spells just yet, I need a little help.

To create your own spell all you really need to do is hold them in your hands and say a small chant asking for the wearer of the bracelet to have protection. Word it any way that feels comfortable to you. You can hold a crystal in your hand with the bracelets to enhance the protection. I use clear quartz when doing this. Hope this is of some help to you!

Mystique is absolutely right! It doesn’t take a lot to craft your own spell – some words of protection and charging with energy are a perfect combination. We do have a few posts about charming or charging amulets and talismans. I’ll grab them for you!
These three were the ones I was thinking of specifically. You would just adjust the phrasing of the chant to make it specific to the wearer rather than yourself

Hi! I, too, love crafting magickal talismans of all sorts. Here are a few methods I´ve used for enchanting/activating them.
- charging them on my altar for a specific period of time; this can be a day or a night, but also a whole moon cycle, depending on what feels right.
- putting them in a manifestation box (I have made a few manifestation boxes for specific intentions) and let them soak up the energies there
- giving them a sound bath: small items will go into my larger singing bowl as I play them, but I also enjoy finding protection frequencies on YT and laying my objects in front of the speaker box for a sound bath
- giving them a color coded wrapping: soft tissue wrapping paper comes in all colors. By choosing a color corresponding with my intentions I can wrap the talisman, chanting some soft words, blessings or prayers while doing so, sometimes incorporating corresponding herbs into the layers of paper.
- giving them a dab of a corresponding anointing oil or essence like rose water, moon water, snow water etc.
- leaving the talisman in a tree over night (of course only if there is a safe place to do so) and asking the tree for it´s energy and blessings. You can give a small offering of water which you pour to the ground next to the tree.
- holding it in your hands, saying a blessing, visualising either white light or a corresponding color infusing the object with energy; you can breathe over it, and awaken the energy of the object with your breath and intention. I like to say: I hereby breathe life into you and program you to …(protect, bring luck, bring financial abundance…)
- clapping into your hands a few times to “wake up” the talismans energies - this is also something I like to do almost daily in the morning, before I will put on my magickal jewellery, talismans or crystals I choose for the day.
Of course there are many more ways to charge, consecrate, program or bless items. These are just a few that I regularly use for my own practice.

actually had ChatGPT help create something simple. I ended up coming up with something similar to what you said. After saging them, I will be saying a blessing whilst holding them in my hands with a clear quartz also in my hand. They are already have ceratin colors that my friend suggested to me. Very interesting that I came uo with something that you also suggested. Lol, it means that I did something right!

They can absolutely be used for items being gifted - you’ll just have to adjust the chant a bit. That goes for any spell, too! They’re all adjustable and personalizable!

You´re so welcome. You can absolutely follow your intuition on such things, because in the end it is your path, your practice. I feel, the most powerful rituals are the ones that we create in regards of what resonates best at this moment, situation and for this specific purpose.
