Question Regarding Dream

I had a dream about a week ago that I cannot seem to forget and I was wondering if someone would be able to help me interpret it. I was deeply asleep and there was darkness when suddenly I had a sensation like someone was yanking me to the present and I was lucid and everything appeared in high contrast. There was a woman standing in front of me which dark blond/light brown hair. The background behind her was a grey blue stone color and just out of sight I believe there was a staircase. She told me to focus and that I must remember this. Then she pulled out a tapestry about the size of a poster that was a tarot card of the empress (it was a regal woman on a thrown I think made of black polished wood bathed in moonlight wearing a crown and surrounded by dark flowers) the woman then placed another tapestry on top of the other one and t was the death tarot card (this one was of a beautiful woman sitting on an obsidian thrown wearing a crow. holding a skull and surrounded by the dead but not in a gruesome way). I did feel very calm while speaking to the woman and after seeing these two tapestries everything went back to black. What felt like very shortly after I woke up before my alarm but coincidentally when a flash of lighting and then thunder went through the room. Anyone have any idea for how I should interpret this dream?

Welcome, @cap and Merry Meet!

Wow - that’s an intense and detailed dream! You’re recalling a lot of vivid details that sound amazing.

I’m Feathertip, from SE Michigan. To me this dream sounds very closely tied to Tarot or Oracle cards - any chance do you use these cards for divination? A recent draw could have inspired this dream-vision - it feels more like a vision to me than a dream.

I use Lenormand cards for divination, and have little insight into Tarot imagery, so I can’t delve into this in any meaningful way.

But there’s a lot to unpack here - hopefully someone here who’s more proficient in Tarot will be along to offer some insight.

Best of luck, and I hope to see more of you around the forum!

You can use runes by turning the content of your dream into a skaldic poem, this creates the base to make what’s called a galdralag that then gives you the runes. From the runes you can translate the dream. Am happy to do it for you if you’d like, let me know lovely :green_heart:

Alternatively the poetry format is here in this post if you wanna have a go.

Magickal Monday Cap,

Very, very interesting dream. I do not know what to make of it. The two previous responses speak of using cards to help you decode the dream. I am not sure, but it sounds to me as if an important or influential woman in your life is going through some serious issues. Maybe not “death” in and of itself, but profound changes. It would seem to me that the “lightning and then thunder” is proof that it was a message and that you need to pay attention.

That is what I can figure out from this. Hope you are able to find answers soon.

Hi. @cap! Welcome to the forum!

Do you remember what you spoke about? And that might have been the High Priestess you saw, not the Empress. Hmmm. And the lightning could show The Tower.

Are you into Tarot? Is that system engraved into your brain enough for your subconscious to bring it up?

There was no speaking apart from saying you must remember this. It was definitely the empress and not the high priests it said on the very bottom of the tapestry where I was able to see the upper half of the letters. I have not really done tarot in a few years so the meanings would not be easily accessible to my subconscious.

Hello @cap and welcome to the forum! :waving_hand: My name is Katharina, I´m an art witch and art therapist, living in Vienna, Austria! I`m working with dreams quite a bit and it seems to me, that you´ve had one of the “big” archetypical dreams, that feel deep and meaningful. Archetypes are blueprints of our soul, they slumber deep down in the part of the psyche to which we have no active, conscious access: the subconscious mind.

The most important question when working with dreams is: how did it make you feel? and/or How did you feel right after waking up from it?
If you have a dream journal write a bit about this and try to describe your emotions as detailed as possible.
You can paint or draw the dream (no worries, it´s not about creating art, more like a visual note) even if it´s just the colour or the overall vibe…whatever wants to flow out of your paintbrush. I love to look at my dream-paintings after a few days, because then I will often recognize little details that my eye missed before.
Regarding the figures in your dream, you can meditate on the questions: which part of me do I recognize in the woman with the dark-blonde hair? Wich part of me do I recognize in the tarot cards shown to me?

Dream work is always interesting! Symbols are the language of the subconscious mind, this is why painting or drawing your dreams can be so helpful.

I hope I could help! If you´re painting something feel free to either post it here or send me a private message, I´ll look over it and maybe together we can “decode” some of the symbolism.

Brightest blessings :dizzy:

That is very odd. Maybe take a dip back into the tarot pool? See if anything jumps out at you?

Good luck!

Welcome @cap !

I enjoyed reading about your dream. Thank you for sharing. The way you described the death tapestry reminds me that many of our psychopomps are guides, not Halloween scary. Tarot states that the Death card is about a big change, as is the Tower card which was mentioned in connection with the lightening and thunder. Change can be odd, but usually turns out positive in the long run. The Empress is a mother figure, confident in her power and abilities.

People with more practice in tarot reading can give you more info. Meanwhile, check in the tarot course for more details.
