Release spell reaction?

Last night I did a full moon release spell. Felt pretty good after but couldn’t sleep. All I’ve wanted to do was cry this morning, though I have no clue why. Why would that be the reaction? Shouldn’t I feel better and stronger?

Hi @devin6

My first thought is there was a lot of crazy energy yesterday with the full moon and partial eclipse. I couldn’t sleep either. When we release something, it makes space for something new to come in. Did you close your sacred space? Letting go is not always an easy process, how did you feel after? Did you ground, and or fill yourself with light energy? I have found that letting go may cause pain and grief, maybe anger as well. So I have to heal the emotions too, and even repeat the spell. I forgive, let go, and be thankful. I hope this helps you, if you have questions please let me know, I am happy to help if I can.

With big hugs :hugs: and lots of love :hearts: always

Hello @devin6,

First of all, hugs to you, Devin :people_hugging:  It sounds like it was a very powerful release spell! Marsha shared some wonderful advice, so just adding in my two cents if I can.

There is a lot of stigma around crying- some people may perceive it as “weak” or “childish”, but the truth is that we all cry for many various reasons (from sad to angry to happy), and it is actually a very purifying process!

Researchers have established that crying releases oxytocin and endogenous opioids, also known as endorphins . These feel-good chemicals help ease both physical and emotional pain.

From Harvard Health: Is Crying Good For You?

I remember watching a video a few years back about a “Tear Teacher” who went around Japan and held seminars to help people to be able to cry in hopes of helping them feel better. I’m pretty sure this is the article and video here: New York Times: Have You Considered the Benefits of Crying?

What I’m trying to say here is that crying is a cleansing process- it can help us to release and to move on. In my eyes, the feeling of wanting to cry could be a direct effect of your spellwork and a physical manifestation of your intention- so if you feel the urge to do so, I would say relax and let the emotions wash over (and out of) you. It’s likely that you will feel better afterwards :people_hugging:

Lots of love and light to you :full_moon: :two_hearts:
