My carrier oil is Almond Oil as it has little to no scent of its own (and I already had it on hand! )
Always perform a patch test before using a new essential oil blend on your skin to ensure there is no allergic reaction.
Use essential oils in moderation, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or have any medical conditions. Consult with a healthcare professional if you have any concerns.
Keep essential oils out of reach of children and pets.
Store your blend in a dark glass bottle to protect it from light and heat, which can degrade the quality of the oils.
I wanted a bit more coverage tonight, so I added just a bit of the Serene Slumber oil blend into my Colloidal Oatmeal lotion that I use daily for my arms and legs. It’s really lovely as I can smell the blend much more now as opposed to just putting a spot of the almond oil mixture here or there.
That’s definitely a benefit that’s how it used to be when my mom was a distributor for an essential oil company. We had so many oils that we just didn’t know what to do with sometimes lol but I had to give my essential oils away when we moved.
Ohh I love doing this! This is how I get my citronella oil for the bugs into my routine when I have oils. It’s easy to just add a few drops and spread it all over!
I started doing this with my homemade CBD/THC salve. I love it but it was hard to spread evenly and can be too greasy if you tried so I’d mix it with my lotion and voila! The Coilodial Oatmeal lotion I use is fragrance free to it’s perfect to add EOs to.
Good question , let me check my notes in the morning and I’ll get back to you. I thought I’d included that info but doesn’t look like I did!
I did use an almond oil carrier. I’ve used it on my upper arms and shoulders. I also really like to mix a bit of the blend into my daily colloidal oatmeal lotion (which doesn’t have a scent) and when I do that I use it on my arms and legs…
This was a blend with Total Essential Oils: 2% of the total blend.
So for every 1 ounce (30 ml) of carrier oil, you need about 12 drops of essential oils. Since there are 6 essential oils in this my blend, it would be 2 drops of each.
When I use this with lotion I use a very small amount and mix it with my lotion. A little goes a long way.
I also turned it into a spray. I scaled it up accordingly for the container size and used distilled water to fill the container 3/4s of the way and 1/4 with witch hazel instead of a carrier oil. I used it to clean my yoga mat and to spray in the air before bedtime.
