I’m not even sure where to start…. Around 1120 this morning, I was sitting on my bed working with my schedule for the week when I hear my Father say my name just as clear as if he was standing next to me. My Father has been dead for 18 years. This isn’t the first time I have heard him. I have been reading about connecting with Ancestors, but something like this just blows me out of the water. Am I crazy??

Why would you be crazy? If you’ve been working on connecting with your ancestors and you’ve been more open to spirit contact, it would make sense that you would eventually connect with one of your ancestors!

I guess it caught me so off guard that it startled me. And with life the way it’s been, I have doubted myself in just about everything I’ve done. I only lit a candle during the full moon bcz I was feeling so out of sorts.
Now that this has happened, I have to figure out what to do next. Any suggestions for the best book to read or the steps I should take.

I don’t think that you are crazy. I too lately have been hearing someone speak to me when there is no one around (I’ve not isolated to whom it is). It is typically only a single word or up to three. At first I just brushed it off and thought I was hearing things. I now have decided to start acknowledging them and I respond “I can hear you” hoping this empowers them to be able to correspond to me more. We shall see.

Oh gosh, you just brought back something my Father used to tell us if we ever saw a spirit, to ask them ‘how can I help you’. My Father was a Witch as well. I had completely forgotten about his instructions.

Echoing everyone to say not crazy at all! It sounds like spirit and ancestor work has been at the forefront of your mind lately. I’d say that things are aligning and the universe is giving you a friendly push to get more involved with this area of your practice

I have found that when I hear my name from a loved one who has passed, I am thinking or doing something that is not good for my mental or physical health. I always stop as you did and call them back by name. Don’t let it scare you. It gets easier over time. I just wish I could hear them longer than what I do when it happens. Have faith in yourself.

My favorite way to do this is with my spirit (ouija) board. Sometimes they are quiet and I get no responses , other times they are quite chatty.

Hi, my dad died in 92’ and I still hear him call me at times. Originally I thought I was going through the grief and grieving process, but after 30 years, I think it’s to give me peace. So I smile and think of him fondly.
