Spell for Heading Back to School

Heading Back to School Spell

A few of you have been talking about going back to school and having some anxiety about balancing your workload. I am reading Arin Murphy-Hiscock’s book “Protection Spells” and thought this spell might be helpful.

“Protection from Oversaturation

When studying or otherwise taking in a lot of information, you can easily get overwhelmed. Use this spell to help strengthen your ability to survive the onslaught of information and even retain the important parts. Studying too much or researching too much can lead to information overload. This spell can help you reinforce your ability to process and retain the material you need to. Brown jasper is associated with strength and long-term endurance, which is just the kind of energy you want helping you in situations like this.

What you need: Brown Jasper

What you do:

  • Center and ground.
  • Hold the brown jasper between your hands. Say, “Brown jasper, strengthen my ability to keep up, enhance my endurance, and grant me the ability to absorb and retain the necessary information required for success, and release the rest.
  • Keep the stone with you during study sessions, when working overtime, and in other situations in which you can be overwhelmed by information.”

If you don’t have brown jasper, you can use one or more of the following substitutes:
Endurance: emerald, garnet, jade, sodalite.
Strength: amethyst, bloodstone, citrine, garnet, hematite, clear quartz.
Good luck with your studies!

Thank you for sharing this! While I’m not going back to school, I am currently studying a few divination methods more in-depth on my own so this would be perfect! Now to just find locate my brown jasper

It’s so true. I’m also not headed back to traditional school this fall, but I am doing a lot of learning and researching on my own. And oh goodness is it easy to get sucked in because of excitement, only to gobble up too much at once and then get overwhelmed!

It’s a lovely spell and I appreciate having the list of substitutes. Thank you so much for sharing, @bj1!

Cheers to this - good luck, everyone! :books: :sparkles: :school_satchel:

Thank you! And thank you for sharing this!

This is my first time back in a classroom as a student in quite a long time. When I went last time everything was online and I did an okay job managing. This time, though, I’ve got in-person classes, and, starting next year when I start the nursing program itself, I will have clinicals to attend in an actual healthcare setting :grimacing:  fun and exciting but I need to make sure I can retain the information I’m learning, for sure!

You will do fine! Just set your priorities and stick with them. The problem I always had was learning when to say “NO”. This sentence from Arin Murphy-Hiscock resonated with me when I read it yesterday: “You don’t owe anyone an explanation beyond, “I’m sorry, I just can’t take that on right now.”” I wish I had seen it many years ago before the burnout hit.
Carrying green jasper will help with balance, and red jasper for strengthening boundaries according to Arin. She has a spell for Saying No, should I share it?

haha my problem is I need to learn to say no to myself! I’m always ready to tackle new projects or play my favorite video game :joy: but going back to school will help me be more disciplined myself, too, which will transfer over to other aspects of my life.

Sure! I think it’ll be helpful for myself but also others, too!
