Spell for Peace and Calm After Disturbing Dreams

I’ve been having a lot of weird dreams recently. Not nightmares or anything, and in fact if you asked me to describe them, I couldn’t. But I knew that they were leaving me with a feeling of unease, impending doom and sadness that permeated the rest of the day.

My morning devotionals and meditation have been helping quite a bit, but I wanted to see if I could do something specific to dispel the negative energies and restore peace and calm to my mind.

I had an idea of some things I could include, but didn’t really know how it would come together, so I worked with Microsoft’s Co-Pilot to come up with this.

A Spell for Peace and Calm After Disturbing Dreams

Dispel Uneasiness and Invite Serenity

Introduction

Dreams hold a mysterious power, often weaving intricate tales that linger in the quiet corners of our minds, sometimes leaving us with unease or sadness. After disturbing dreams, it is essential to nurture your spirit and create space for peace and calm. Below is a spell designed to dispel negativity and restore harmony to your inner world.

What You’ll Need

  • · A white candle (symbolizing purity and peace)
  • · A small bowl of clean water (signifying renewal)
  • · A pinch of salt (to clear negativity)
  • · A soothing herb, such as lavender or chamomile (to invite calmness)
  • · A quiet space free from distractions

The Ritual

Step 1: Prepare Your Space

Begin by finding a tranquil spot where you feel at ease. Light the white candle and place it in front of you, allowing its soft glow to create a soothing atmosphere. Take a deep breath, inhaling peace, and exhaling tension.

Step 2: Create the Cleansing Waters

Add the pinch of salt to the bowl of water, stirring gently as you say:

Waters pure, take my sorrow,
cleanse my heart for a better tomorrow.

Place the bowl before the candle.

Step 3: Set Your Intention

Hold the herb in your hands as you close your eyes. Visualize all uneasiness and sadness flowing out of you, dissipating in the light of the candle. Whisper softly:

"By the light’s glow and herb’s balm,
I release this sadness, welcome calm.
Peace within, I now reclaim, serenity flows,
I feel the same."

Step 4: Cleanse Yourself

Dip your fingertips into the bowl of water and lightly anoint your forehead and palms. Imagine the water washing away the remnants of your disturbing dream, leaving you refreshed and at peace.

Step 5: Seal the Spell

Allow the candle to burn down naturally if it’s safe to do so or extinguish it with gratitude, saying:

"The light has shown the way to peace,
unease has gone, calm won’t cease."

After the Ritual

Take some time to sit quietly, perhaps journaling or meditating on the serenity you’ve invited into your space. Drink a warm cup of herbal tea or surround yourself with comforting aromas to deepen the relaxation.

Conclusion

This gentle spell is not just an act of cleansing but an affirmation of your strength and ability to transform uneasiness into the soothing balm of peace. Allow yourself to carry the tranquility beyond this ritual, knowing your spirit is resilient and ready to embrace calmness at every turn.

This sounds like the “summer dreams” I get - when the weather is hot, humid, and heavy, my quality of sleep declines and my dreams become murky and unpleasant. Not quite nightmares, but not fun or refreshing. Sorry you’ve been having heavy dreams, too!

I’m glad your morning devotionals and meditations have been helping, and this sounds like a lovely spell to help recclaim peace after a turbulent’s night sleep. Thank you for sharing it, @jayne!

Thank you, @jayne. Update requested: How’s it working for you?

I ask because sometimes such dreams affect my whole day, too. My only recourse so far has been to write the dreams out as best I can. Sometimes that’s easier said than done. It feels more like shadow work than dream work.

Then again, the two forms of work may be connected.

I will keep you posted @georgia

I didn’t need to do it this morning, thankfully. But I think it will be a nice tool to have in the toolbox for those mornings when I wake up with the weight of the world on my shoulders.
