I’ve been feeling a bit “off” today. Sort of disconnected and sad. Could be the situation with my sister, could be the fact that the formerly beautiful Pine tree in the back yard looks like it is dying now, could be the awful sorrow brought on by the flooding in Texas, New Mexico and North Carolina.
So this morning after my daily devotionals I did the ritual I wrote with CO pilot the other day to reconnect with my spirituality and I also created a spell jar from a recipe in a book called Naturally Modern Magic by Lacey Burbage.
That looks beautiful, @jayne! You did a great job with this spell jar.
Gosh, your alter and surrounding work area look so neat and tidy. Very organized.
I have to smile, catching a glimpse of that baggie from HEB with the words “Texas Tough.” We lived in Texas for 3 years and I loved my local HEB - used baggies just like that.
I know it’s been a really rough and painful time. Glad this spell jar has lifted your spirits.
@jayne I am sorry that you are having such a tough day. I am glad that creating the Spell Jar has made you feel better though. It’s great that as Witches we can do these little activities to make ourselves feel better. Most people are missing out. They don’t get to do these fun activities!
@jayne did you know that the Heart Shape is good for emotional healing? I think that is another big part of why you felt better afterwards. I meant to say that yesterday. If you already know and I’m being a dummy, please let me know.
@Selena-Paloma I wasn’t really aware of that, but perhaps it was just intuitive. It certainly makes sense. And it explains why I was drawn to purchase jars with that shape, as opposed to just straight edged jars.
I went to a Hobby Lobby last year and they only had Fall stuff. I asked one of the workers where the Halloween decor was and they said they don’t carry any. It must have just been the one I was at. I’m not going there again!
I just looked it up and the article said Hobby Lobby no longer stocks real Halloween decor items due to their religious beliefs. I must have started it last year.
Couldn’t resist jumping in to say that’s sad… for Hobby Lobby! Those hunting for Halloween treasures have lots of fun options to take their business elsewhere. Craft stores like Michaels go pretty wild for Halloween, and I’ve found some surprisingly neat spooky things at the Dollar Store. TJMaxx (or TKMaxx in Europe), Home Goods, and Marshalls already have Halloween stuff out on shelves. Spirit Halloween is fun and they actually have some specifically witchy things, in addition to the usual spooky goods. Around here, even the grocery stores put out Halloween decor along with seasonal snacks.
On that note, maybe we should open up a seasonal space to share Halloween findings and store recommendations?
I’m glad your spellwork helped lift your mood, Jayne! That spell jar is gorgeous
