Spider appears during protection spell - Hekatean practices

Hello, my lovely sisters/ brothers!

I hope you had a lovely new moon yesterday. As a daughter of Hekate, I made a vow to honor her every month by performing a diepnon every new moon.

This one was very significant and a lot of messages were sent. I would really appreciate any feedback on how to interpret these messages!

The diepnon ritual was a big success! I can make separate post about how exactly I do this every month if anyone is interested.

Okay. Right after she accepted my offerings, I walked away and didn’t look back, and found another spot at the park to sit and journal in my book of shadows about the experience under a beautiful Jacaranda tree. I spotted a carefully arranged rune with sticks for protection and amplification of rituals, I obviously did not disturb it. Seconds later, I look to my right and it’s a tiny fearless bird coming up to say hello. I asked Hekate if I could take a picture of it and a crowd shouted “yes” in conversation seconds later, so I did :joy: Driving home, I saw a coyote running across the road.

Then, later at night, I cleansed my space and started to perform my protection spell and invoked the flame for my candle. When meditating with the candle and imagining being in a bubble of protection, the flame was growing tall and strong and I felt the powerful energy coming into the space.

However, in the middle of the ritual, a black spider arrived on my wall and started to crawl downwards. I stopped what I was doing, acknowledging its presence and thanked it for the message. Now is a great time to mention that I am TERRIFIED of spiders lol so I stopped for the night as I wasn’t in the right headspace to practice anymore. I thanked Hekate for the messages but kindly asked for gentler signs and immediately turned around and saw the time at 3:33. Saw 11:11, 2:22, and 3:33 again today.

Anyone have any similar experiences during their rituals, or know anything about the friendly appearances I received yesterday?

Thank you, and blessed be :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hi @DorianDylan ! Welcome to our coven! Let me introduce myself a little before diving into your questions. I’m from Minnesota and have been practicing many different aspects of the craft for 35+ years. I currently work with voodoo and divination and I’m studying Enochian Magick.

Ok. So it sounds like your ritual was greatly accepted!! And yes! Would love to have you create a post as to how you do it! Very much interested!!!

The rune, bird and coyote are all good signs that your ritual was approved of and accepted.

The black spider is also a good sign. A lot of people are afraid of spiders. But most of them are harmless. She was just coming in to say hi and I got your back, you are protected and safe.

I’m glad you felt comfortable asking for advice! This is a wonderful group and and we have some very knowledgeable people in here.

Blessings :purple_heart::purple_heart::purple_heart:

I forgot to comment an your Angel numbers! Lol

333 is a sign of growth and divine energy.

222 signifies balance and harmony and spiritual alignment

1111 signifies you are in the right path and supported by divine guidance.

So they go right along with everything else you experienced!

Again, welcome to our coven!!

Welcome @DorianDylan!

I am interested! Please do share!

I’m a bird person, so I feel that any time a bird comes close without fear, it is Magickal. To have the bird stay close long enough to request permission and receive an answer is an answer in and of itself. Yes!

What kind of bird was it? Different species have their own symbolism like blue birds mean happiness, cranes represent patience, storks bring abundance, and robins are hope.

Sticks fall in random patterns all the time. For them to reveal a recognizable, relatable rune doesn’t have to be rare, but it is. This was definitely a message, too.

As for the coyote and black spider, are you in an area where such appearances are rare? The more rare the possibility, the more natural the message. For example, I live in the desert: black widow spiders are common, especially in unused areas like the space under the elevators of my apartment complex. However, being in a big city like Albuquerque, coyotes are rare.

Coyotes represent cunning and trickery, like a fox.
Spiders weave dreams.
Birds carry messages.
The tall, strong flame on your candle was a confirmation that your spell was working.

All in all, a wonderful set of messages. I’d like to congratulate you for recognizing them for what they are! Few people do when starting out.
