Spiritual Guidance for Passion and Courage ✨ A Tarot Spell

I was inspired by our latest challenge – :black_joker: Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Card Magick – to pull two cards at random and create a spell around them. So, I shuffled my cards and pulled The Hierophant and the Queen of Wands. Let’s see how we can put these two cards together in a spell!

The Cards

Before I can create my intention, I first have to break down the cards into their keywords and concepts. This will help give me a general idea of where I can take the spell using the specific energies and ideas behind the two cards.

The Hierophant

image

Based on the image of the Pope, The Hierophant stands with his followers, preaching from a position of spiritual wisdom and leadership. He holds the keys to the structure and power of tradition, actively encouraging his followers to have faith in their communities.

Keywords: Spiritual Wisdom, Religious Beliefs, Conformity, Tradition, Institutions, Education, Knowledge [5. The Hierophant – Spells8]

The Queen of Wands

image

A master of her art, the Queen of Wands is comfortable in her current role. She knows what she’s good at and she loves what she does, bringing joy and creativity to every aspect of her life. She is happy with where she has placed her attention and she moves forward with courage even in the face of the unknown.

Keywords: Strength, Fertility, Passion, Happiness, Determination, Courage, Confidence, Independence, Protection, Success [Queen of Wands – Spells8]

Crafting The Intention

Now that I have the keywords and concepts from the two cards I chose, I can move forward with crafting the spell intention. I know that The Hierophant symbolizes divine guidance and spiritual teachings while the Queen of Wands symbolizes passionate independence and courage. Putting these two concepts together, the intention I created is:

Seeking spiritual wisdom from the Gods to lead my life with passion and courage.

See? Simple!

Spell Components

With the intention for my spell crafted, I gathered some ingredients and components that my spell will use. Some of these I have on hand and others are ideas for future consideration if I do not have them on hand, or if the spell purpose needs to be adjusted slightly.

I will need…

  • a white or orange candle (divinity and courage)
  • a sigil or item to charge (to carry after the spell)
  • smokey quartz (for mental clarity)
  • carnelian (for confidence)

I may also include…

Correspondences To Consider

:waning_gibbous_moon: waxing or full moon
:black_heart: casting at night
:consecrate_spell: any associations with deities you already work with

Casting the Spell

With everything gathered, it is time to cast the spell!

  1. Cleanse the space, the ingredients, and yourself before beginning. It is important to begin this spell with a cleansed area because you are calling in divine guidance.
  2. Spend a few moments grounding yourself, releasing any physical tension in your body as well as mental or emotional tension. Come to a place of peaceful balance. If necessary, center your energy within, focusing on why you are performing the spell.
  3. Lay the two cards out in front of you and light your candle. As you light the candle, visualize a soft golden glow all around you. This is the glow of peaceful divine energy, a soft place to come when you need guidance.
  4. Lay out your crystals and other ingredients – this time I am using smokey quartz and carnelian – and the trinket or sigil you wish to charge. The sigil can be something simple, even a pentacle or other symbol you have created.
  5. With everything laid out in front of you, hold your hands over the cards and crystals. Take three deep, intentional breaths, and repeat the following.

By crown and cross, by wand and throne,
Divine wisdom, make your presence known.
Empower my spirit, set it free,
As I will, so mote it be.

  1. Gently place your hands on your trinket or sigil, breathing life and energy into the item. Carry it with you or place it somewhere near you to inspire spiritual guidance and empowerment when you need it.
  2. Close your space and spell in the usual fashion, cleaning up any remaining ingredients and clearing the space for a fresh start.

And That’s It!

I will admit I had a lot of fun creating this spell. Gathering random ingredients or ideas and compiling them together into a useful spell really gets the witch-senses turning and the brain working in different ways!

If you try this spell I would love to hear how it works for you!

Thank you! This was a pretty fun brain exercise for myself, especially considering I really don’t connect with The Hierophant at all :joy: If you two happen to do something like this, I’d love to hear about it!

Ok trying my hand at this today before I completely forget or get distracted with something else!

I shuffled and pulled two cards from random spots in the middle.

I picked The Emperor and The World

Keywords

The Emperor: Authority, Establishment, Structure, Father Figure, Protection.
The World: Completion, Fulfilment, Wholeness, Harmony, Accomplishment, Success

Well, I could go two ways here  - either a spell to accomplish a project or a protection and harmony spell. Honestly, I could use either or both of them.

I have created a spell to protect and ensure success while I achieve my goal.

Crystals

Black Tourmaline - protection, grounding, shielding
Rose Quartz - protection, peace
Amethyst - protection, attracting good luck
Adventurine - prosperity, abundance
Clear Quartz - protection, clarity

Candles

Green: Success, good luck, abundance
White: protection

Herbs

Bay leaves - success, abundance
Rosemary - clarity, protection
Lavender - protection, peace
Cinnamon - inviting in abundance
Salt - Protection

OOoo now that I've got all my ingredients picked, I've decided to create a spell jar for Protection and Success.
