Yes. Grounding, shadowwork, spiritual baths, smoke cleansing, sound cleansing, journaling, and self love/care is a must I feel it goes with it all. Also elemental balancing
Ritual baths, journaling, meditation with my Goddesses, aromatherapy, grounding and centering, and keeping a self love altar is how I practice good spiritual hygiene
Honestly, i am in need of a deep scrub when it comes to spiritual hygiene! Just typing this out makes me think gross and how sad, because when it comes to my everyday mundane tasks like showering etc, it is done naturally with out a thought, but spiritually cleansing (even though i know it is essential to cleanse), i do it rarely… I will on occasion do a cleanse through meditation, or ground myself, and more often than not smudge with sage or rosemary to cleanse my space usually forgetting about my actual self, but taking a spiritual cleanse physically like a crystal and herb bath, i haven’t done even though i made a little bag for that exact purpose!
Thank you for bringing this subject up, i really did need this post to remind myself that spiritually is just as important as physical and emotional hygiene!
Grounding, meditating, Crystal or smoke cleanse, cleansing baths are all good. I do a spiritual cleanse every morning while taking my shower. That way if my day is hectic and I don’t have time to meditate or anything else, at least I know I have done a spiritual cleanse that morning. Also, several times a week I just run a clear Quartz down my body to absorb any negative energy.
For me, spiritual hygiene is the act of keeping myself spiritually adjusted. I don’t think “adjusted” is quite the right word to use here but it’s the word that’s coming to my mind. It involves a lot of things, but mostly making sure that I’m keeping my spiritual practice the way I want it to be. This might include things such as…
grounding
centering
cleansing
meditation
offerings
mindfulness
gratitude
In the middle of all of the actual spiritual stuff is the physical stuff. I think it’s important to take care of not only the spirit but the body and mind, too. For example, if I’m sick, it is going to be much harder for me to manage meditations, offerings, and smoke cleansings because my physical body isn’t feeling well. Thus, taking care of my physical body becomes a form of spiritual hygiene!
I think spiritual hygiene will vary from person to person, too, because everyone’s spiritual practice is going to look different.
Spiritual hygiene… I tie it together so much with my emotional and mental hygiene!
Specifically, right now I’m on a gratitude journey. The goal is to be more thankful for each day than the last. It is incredibly not easy for me
This journey involves short journaling entries of that for which I am grateful, mood check-ins, tiny celebrations, and so on. I find gratitude to be an important part of manifestation. Not just the final step, but an holistic approach to making my life and the world a better place, with every breath.
