ive worked with hygeia for years, but ive heard alot about hecate, and there isnt much for hygeia. do yall have any recommendations on what to start with when worshipping hecate?

. i connected with her a couple years ago over the fact that she loves snakes and i lovelovelove snakes so much, but when i started reading about her, i realized i needed her company, yknow?
hygeia is the goddess of hygiene (obviously) and health and healing. there is so little information about her out there, but i was gifted a pendant of her about a couple months after the connection and havent taken it off since. shes often depicted as a greek goddess with a snake wrapped around her shoulders. the cross with a snake on it that represents health (The Rod of Asclepius)? ya, thats a reference to her father 
shes typically offered clothing or pieces of fabric, but i find she also enjoys preserved flowers

Hey, lovely! I´m working with Hecate since many moons. 
Of course every practicioners path is different, but my best experiences are when working through channeling one-on-one with her. I´m calling it my “girls night” lol when I will prepare myself (cleansing bath, special clothes, jewellery and sometimes even make-up dedicated to her. After all I´ll be meeting with a goddess) and the altar (flowers, offerings, candles, incense ), playing music dedicated to her and then get comfortable with my notebook and my oracle deck. After a meditation, I´m calling on her with her name and almost always I can feel her presence.
I´ll ask questions and she´ll answer - sometimes I can channel her directly or I´ll use my cards or pendulum.
This is something I´ll do once a month or so.
What I do daily is lighting some incense and a tea-light candle on my altar for her.
Sometimes I will read a hymn or poem to her or just pray. She is a liminal goddess, so she will always be there when you´re standing at a crossroad in your life, when loss of a loved one hits you (be it human or pet), she understands difficult emotions and pain and you can lay them on her altar anytime; she will help you process and get through difficult experiences. It took me a while to learn, that her altar is not only a place to worship, but also a place of connection and power for me. Spellwork with her tends to manifest quickly, if you´re on the right path. She doesn’t like whiny, petty people who want to hex someone just because they gave them the wrong look—if you know what I mean. But if you have a genuine reason, you can count on her as an ally, and then things can get pretty explosive for the person being hexed. But as I said, it really takes a valid reason.
She is very helpful when it comes to shadow work, but that path isn’t for the faint of heart. If you commit to it, you learn a lot—though it’s not always what you expect.
Cyndi Brannen is a great source for learning about Hecate! She has numerous books, but also a fantastic YouTube channel!
