Tarot card aroma

So, his has never happened before, I just got my tarot cards out of their box, in which I also keep a selenite crystal. As soon as I opened the box I could smell a floral scent.

Has anyone had this happen to them? They have been in the box and no where near any flowers. Also the scent is more on the cards than in the box.

It’s a very pleasant aroma, and I can detect a bit of rose in there, but it’s really a general flowery scent.

Any ideas?

Does the scent remind you of anyone? I have a candle that is supposed to be unscented but every time my daughter or I pick it up from my altar, it smells like my mom’s old bedroom. A mix of Imari perfume, roses, and Saratoga cigarettes. We like to think she visits and touches the candle, so we’ve never lit it. Maybe someone was visiting and used your cards?

I hadn’t thought of that, thank you. I don’t have anyone in the family that would use my cards, I’m the only witch in the family - that I know of anyway.

My dad was an avid gardener though. Maybe it was him, we lost him in 2017. He has definitely said hello before. The day he died I got a phone call from my kids, after he had passed, saying that grandad had phoned and left a message on the answering machine. It was a message he’d left three weeks before but it had come up as a new message.

Eira shared some great suggestions - I second the idea that the scent may be from a spirit, ancestor, or deity. They can sometimes communicate or reach out through our senses.

I think this is a great opportunity! You might use the cards themselves to help you pinpoint the scent and what it may mean. Here’s a tarot spread for identifying an entity who is reaching out - you could use or adapt it to help get more infor.

Good luck and blessed be!
