I mentioned I had done this and that I would post it, and then promptly forgot to post it!
I wanted a create a prayer to express gratitude and thankfulness at Thanksgiving and just make the day mean more than eating ourselves senseless and collapsing in front of the TV.
I worked with Co-Pilot and came up with this. Feel free to use it if you wish.
Wiccan Prayer of Thanksgiving
Honoring the Earth, the Divine, and the Abundance of Life
Gracious Mother, radiant Father,
Spirits of Earth, Sky, Fire, and Water,
We gather in gratitude as the seasons turn,
To honor the bounty you bestow and the lessons we learn.
With hearts open wide, we thank you for abundance—
For the harvest of the field, the fruits of the trees,
For the loving embrace of family and friends,
And the guidance you offer, gentle as the breeze.
Blessed Be the soil, rich and deep,
Blessed Be the rain, the sun, and sleep.
For every seed planted, every flower that grows,
For the cycles and mysteries only Nature knows.
We give thanks for protection, wisdom, and love,
For the magick that flows from below and above.
May we walk in balance, with kindness and grace,
Honoring all beings and the sacred space.
As we share this feast and the joy we receive,
We remember to give, to honor, and believe.
With gratitude in spirit, word, and deed,
We are blessed by your presence, so mote it be.
