The Power of the Sun in Witchcraft ☀️

In witchcraft, the Sun is more than just a ball of fire in the sky—it’s a powerful source of energy, life, and magick. While the Moon often takes the spotlight in many spells and rituals, the Sun holds its own radiant power, especially for those who work with light, growth, and vitality.

Why the Sun is Magickal
The Sun’s energy is warm, life-giving, and constant. It nourishes plants, lights our way, and helps keep the Earth alive.

In magickal practice, it’s connected to:

  • Strength & Courage :flexed_biceps: – Boosts confidence and determination.

  • Growth & Success :seedling: – Encourages prosperity and forward movement.

  • Clarity & Illumination :magnifying_glass_tilted_left: – Shines light on truth and hidden paths.

  • Protection :shield: – Burns away negativity and unwanted energy.

Working with Sun Energy

You can easily tap into solar magick in your daily life:

Sun Water – Place a jar of clean water in direct sunlight for a few hours to infuse it with vitality and positivity.

Morning Rituals – Meditate or set intentions as the Sun rises to call in fresh opportunities.

Charge Your Tools – Crystals like citrine, carnelian, or sunstone soak up solar energy beautifully.

Herbal Magick – Work with sun-ruled herbs like rosemary, marigold, and sunflower for warmth and joy.

Best Times for Solar Magick

  • Sunrise – New beginnings and hope.

  • Midday – Peak energy and power.

  • Sunset – Release and reflection.

The Sun is a reminder that magick isn’t just in the shadows—it’s also in the light. Whether you’re casting a spell, charging your tools, or simply soaking in its warmth, the Sun’s energy is always ready to empower your craft.

:sun: Let the Sun shine on your magick, and watch your life bloom. :sunflower:

Merry Meet Silver Bear,
I am a Solitary Solar, and I perform my oblations at sunrise and again in the evenings. I do use the full-moon, but I am a morning person, so I work with the sun. It is great, and the power is already there, you can FEEL it. I drink my solar water (and lunar water) each day, and after only 4 months people stated that I was looking better!! Merry Part and Meet again, Lady Gene
