The thinning veil

Witch Challenge - ****

Challenge entry, Garnet

I did a post on the Veil a while ago and if it’s permitted I’m going
to draw on some of that.
Although complex, and to some, frightening, one must understand
what the ‘veil’ is. We are each separate in the shell we call our body.
Our lives are finite, but on another plane, we are eternal. There is no
beginning and no end. Are we then one with each other and everything?
I say yes. The ‘Veil’ is a term used to describe an almost opaque
membrane between now and then, before and after, between this
world & the next.
In its most basic form,

Summary

it separates the ‘living’ from the ‘dead’.

Now, why does this Membrane, or Veil thin in October? I think that
as the days grow shorter, the world of life & growth is winding down.
Harvest is almost over but it isn’t gone. It is a time of great change,
a transition of sorts… A “doorway” between seasons, fall/harvest &
winter/the great sleep, or death if you will.
Under our tiny realm of reality, there lays a massive space (let’s call
it eternity , or heaven if you prefer*.* ) *We all start there
and we will always return there. Are we all one and the same, even
at this moment?
Before, after, now & then… are you confused? That’s alright, the
unseen or spiritual is the ‘unknown’ and we’ve had so many ideas
pushed into our heads that this concept is preposterous at it’s
worst and “hum” worthy if you can understand and accept abstract
concepts.

The 'veil is at its thinnest in October and we are drawn to certain events or
themes. We are all drawn by the primary symbols of Halloween. Scary
movies, ghosts, cemeteries, zombies, and skeletons are everywhere. I
think that when the veil is at its thinnest, our short-lived or finite selves
meet our infinite selves.

Summary

It would seem that if we are that close (the thinning veil) to those who have
passed before us, we should be able to communicate with them.
Or vise versa. There are signs that the spirits of loved ones are trying to
communicate with us. If you keep having thoughts or dreams of them, or
hear them calling your name, it could be a sign they are reaching out.

I have used Astral projection to visit the dearly gone. It was illuminating,
thrilling and soothing at the time. Flying as a ghostly form across
mountains, cornfields, lakes and rivers to arrive…well it was my personal
temple. In my mind, it was a giant marble building. Lush lawns, beautifully
landscaped Inside, the theme was a library.

Summary

I would sit and visit with
ancestors and even met my guardian angel, Micheal, the archangel. It was
soothing, I asked questions and they answered.

Then I felt the need to go home and the trip was reversed but very fast.
I found myself home and safe. It was wonderful but I’ve only been there
a few times, when I need peace and solitude.
Would I recommend this or encourage others to do this? Not really, nor
would I discourage anyone. It’s very person and we all have our own
reasons to pierce the veil. It takes a lot of meditation and spiritual stamina.

JEEZ~ I re-read my sources and this was a challenge in 22’.
The nut-bunny strikes again!

I’m going to submit it anyway. It took a long time and my thinker is tired.

Bless you all

Resurfacing previous ideas to build on them and explore them in new ways is a wonderful way to take on a challenge. Journaling and reflective work are always welcome, too!

I agree, as in some ways a “veil” is also a “barrier”, and as it thins, it becomes easier to reach beyond the mundane and experience a greater beyond. I really like your analogy of the veil as a doorway. That resonates with how I view it :door: :sparkles:

I enjoyed your entry a few years back and it’s wonderful to see how your thoughts have developed with time. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom about the veil and astral projection, @Garnet!
