After reading through all your Virtual Altar Questions & Suggestions, we’ve been stirring the cauldron and making some magical updates just in time for Beltane, and to celebrate the Spells8 community turning 7, well actually 6 years old this May!
Here’s what’s new on the altar:
Rune and zodiac symbols can now be carved into your candles.
New crystals, herbs, and even some sabbat decorations added.
Some items resized for a better fit (candles, water, salt bowl).
Tooltips added to help identify items (hover or tap).
A simple Help button added to the menu with a quick guide.
I keep forgetting about this great feature. I come across spells that require fire, or my body isn’t cooperating and I don’t have the energy or physical capacity to set up my space and altar and I save them to use with our virtual altar but never go back to them! Today I’m going to explore this really awesome feature! Thank you!
This is awesome. Eric and I are up at our rental cabin in northeast Texas this weekend and I didn’t bring much witchy stuff with me at all. Looking forward to seeing all the new options. You guys rock!

You’re fine, Georgia! I struggle to pin down Spells8’s exact birthday. The very first forum post went up in May 2019.
…and the first newsletter went out on April 25, 2019, so the forum community is officially six years old!
I thought it was seven because the earliest content on spells8.com dates back to July 2018, when I published the Orphic Hymns post (which inspired many pagan chants and prayers!)
Either way, @georgia was right! This week we’re celebrating six wonderful years of the Spells8 community!
