The Witches’ Nine Knot Spell (sometimes referred to as the Nine Knot Charm) is one of the most popular knot magick chants known to tradition. With every knot tied upon a cord or ribbon, the intent for the spell is infused.
By knot of one, the spell’s begun.
By knot of two, it comes true.
By knot of three, so mote it be.
By knot of four, this power I store.
By knot of five, the spell’s alive.
By knot of six, this spell I fix.
By knot of seven, the stars of heaven.
By knot of eight, the hand of fate.
By knot of nine, what’s done is mine.
Here’s what you can do…
Select a cord, ribbon, or yarn that corresponds to your intention (green for abundance, red for courage, blue for peace, purple for intuition, white for healing, etc.).
Hold your intention in your mind. Tie one knot while speaking each line of the chant.
When you have finished tying all nine knots, you may want to save your cord somewhere special, lay it on your altar, carry it with you, or bury it when your intention becomes reality.
Many modern witches alter the words to a specific situation or outcome such as healing, protection, confidence, abundance etc. while maintaining the meter of the original nine-knot charm.
Don’t be afraid to use “knots” in other items…not just twine or rope! Incorporate it into cooking! By the way this was very tasty lol.
