Three Video Reccomendations from This Week!

I watched three WONDERFUL, informative videos this morning from this past week, and I have to share! All are from YouTube, I’m linking because half the time, anymore YouTube vids don’t show up for me.

The first was from Hearth Witch, and she was discussing this TicTok video where someone got weirded out by the witchy decor in a hair salon. But it’s got some wonderful tips on mirror magic, protection magic, and protecting a magical shop! So I thought someone here might like to look at it!

Witchcraft at a Hair Salon?║A Witch Reacts

The second is a video by Kelly-Ann Maddox, whose book, Rebel Witch, I loved so much I’m thinking of reading it again soon. She’s also got one out that I want to buy, Witch in Darkness: Magick for Tough Times, Bad Days and Moments of Total Catastrophe, that looks awesome! I can’t wait to get my hands on that one!

Anyhow, she did a video about 12 Toxic Witchcraft Mindsets and how to avoid them, which is just what it says on its tin.

It validated a few of the thoughts I’ve had, though, and is a great video for newbies and old pros alike.

The third is a much shorter video; the others were a bit on the long side.

This one, A Simple Pagan Ritual Everyone Can (and Should) Do, is by someone I watch called Jacob Toddson, and he’s great with historical facts, myths, and things like that.

But this video was a bit different. It was about making objects sacred and cleansing them when you buy them or before you use them. Very good video!

But yeah, he talks about some Celtic and Norse myths, and sacred sites, and history. Things like that. Makes me feel all smart, even if I forget half the stuff. LOL! Better than a National Geographic special!

So I hope you enjoy! Have fun watching!

These all sound awesome! The video about avoiding toxic mindsets seems especially interesting. I haven’t done a YouTube binge in a while, this is going on the to-watch list!

Thanks for the recommendations!

For all the ads and low-quality content piling up on social media these days, it’s a delight to come across a high-quality creator who cares and puts effort into what they do. These ones are treasures! Thanks again for recommending them!

You’re welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed them!

It’s a great book! I want her other one so bad, but there are other books on my list too, and yeah, I need to win the lottery so I can sit like a dragon on my Kindle book hoard. :dragon: :books:

Blessed be!

I always love a good YouTube video! There are some really great points in all of these videos.

I saw this video from a completely different channel (not even witchcraft-related!) before I saw Hearth’s, and I just love the way Hearth talks about issues like this. She stays neutral, never assumes someone is acting in bad faith, and approaches it from an educational perspective.

Yes! Kelly-Ann is a fantastic human being and witch! I love her approach to these mindsets and really how she explains where they come from and how to combat them. I think my favorite mindset she talked about was the first one, that witchcraft has to be serious all the time. Sometimes, laughter is the best magic!

Right off the bat, I loved that he made it okay to be skeptical. He said that even if you don’t believe cleansing is actually doing anything, it’s still a meditative experience that can help with your mindset before any spiritual work.

Thank you for sharing, Amethyst! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m always reading something, but I hate buying things that aren’t enjoyable, mostly because by the time I read them, it’s past the return date. LOL!

Yeah, that’s what I like. She’s not judgmental. It’s refreshing.

Too true! A good laugh when things are bad can be more healing than a ton of prayers.

You’re welcome, love!

I’ve watched a couple of his. I, like many, enjoy his way of communicating. He puts it out there but doesn’t try to sell his own path

Yeah. He comes across as very smart, but not hitting you over the head with how smart he is, you know? He’s not arrogant, he’s enjoying the subject he’s talking about and wants you to enjoy it too!

I wish I had teachers like him when I was in school!
