Well, we’re having some free time before work tonight. No sunshine today—it’s overcast, which is alright, and not as warm without the sun, but still about 59 degrees, so I’m not complaining. Just coming down to the Ohio River hits my soul every single time. I’ve spent so much time down here in my 46 years on this vessel. Some of the best times of my life were spent down here with my dad fishing, or just partying on these river banks with so many dear friends we’ve lost to drugs and alcohol over the years. But their spirits are always with me when I’m down here, so I come down as much as I can. I haven’t been down here as much lately for obvious reasons—working and being sick—but it makes you appreciate and remember, which is always a good thing.
I always pick up as much trash as I can down here, too. It always upsets me seeing what comes in from the river, not to mention the lazy, ignorant people leaving their trash for no reason whatsoever! I do have a limit on what I can haul off, though. Thanks, guys—I have to run to my car and get gloves to pick this bad boy up!
And check out what I purchased today walking around Wheeling! I stopped in Love Art, a local place that sells work by local artists
. These two pieces resonated with me, and I’ll be picking up another one next payday. I even got to talk to the lady who painted them, she was there today—it was amazing! I told her about the squirrel and blue jay and showed her pictures; she held my hand, didn’t say a word, and we both just had a moment. It was incredible.
Then I walked right across the street to my tea place under the elder tree. They had a bunch of new stuff! I didn’t grab any tea today because I still have some from before, but check out what I did purchase. I’ll definitely be back for more on the cycles of each moon—I love it.
I don’t have to be at work till 11:30 tonight, and I’m off tomorrow to get ready to go visit my parents. So I just wanted to share with the board. Hope everyone has a blessed, wonderful day wherever you’re at—even if the sun ain’t shining or you can’t see the moon. (I’m having moon withdrawals because the moon here in Wheeling doesn’t come up until about 4 in the morning, and I usually only get to see it when I work early mornings!) But we’ve got a, Dark Moon coming on 9th
and it’s time to celebrate and honor Hecate, especially with November 16th right around the corner. So I hope everyone has an amazing, special, blessed weekend! ![]()
