🏆 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Catch-Up! [Challenge #200]

Challenge Entry #3: All About Altars - Reverent Witch

While I have two altars in my home, I’m going to focus on my ancestor altar for this post as I’ll be using my other one in another challenge entry related to offerings.

Living in an RV means I am small on space so my ancestor altar is a small shelf and a wall of pictures.

I have several relatives from my father’s side, my mom’s adopted side, and my husband’s adopted side.

Pictures if you are curious

From the top down:

  • Top: My mom’s parents, Jana (nĂ©e Farmer) and Walter Kennedy
  • Set of three, vertical: me as a baby with my Great Grandma Farmer (my mom’s mom’s mom) and Grandma Kennedy
  • Set of three, top horizontal: me as a baby with my Great Grandma Marion (my dad’s dad’s mom)
  • Set of three, bottom horizontal: my dad’s mom, Maureen Clay (nĂ©e Ellis)
  • Bottom row, left: My Great Grandmother Angeline Ellis (nĂ©e Pero) (my dad’s mom’s mom)
  • Bottom row, middle: my husband’s mom, Linda Tracy (nĂ©e Abshire)(he picked the photo)
  • Bottom row, right: my husband’s grandmother, Catherine Abshire (his mom’s mom; he picked the photo)

I keep a glass of fresh water on their altar. I also have a couple trinket boxes that I will keep various items in. Currently they are empty as I just cleaned my altar and have not decided what I want to place back in them.

I also currently don’t have a candle because (1) my cat has decided he likes to sit on top of the xbox that is right below the shelf and he likes fire (weirdo) and (2) my ancestors can never agree on what kind of candle they want (shouldn’t be too surprised as I’m combining Irish Catholics and Southern Baptists, :joy:  :joy:). I think I’m going to get a flameless candle so I don’t have to worry about Bender lighting our RV on fire.
