Oh that’s awesome! She is very welcome! Have a great day!
That’s beautiful, Krissie! Sounds like you had fun under the Moon!
I saw it mostly from the window but tonight we’ll make a bonfire
I wish I had more memorabilia from my ancestors but that’s all back in my hometown. I did however print my late grandfather’s picture for this occasion, and carved pumpkins
I’m putting together a special altar for my mother and my aunt. I didn’t have time to get it set up for Samhain, but their birthday and the anniversary of my mom’s passing is the 7th, exactly one week after Samhain. I’m trying to decide what to put on it other than just photos. I want to put up something representing their extra special psychic bond they had that only identical twins share.
On the ancestor altar, you can put physical objects like family heirlooms (jewelry, quilts, vintage clothing and accessories, kitchenware), or other memorabilia such as letters, recipes, artwork, stories, and of course, food and beverages.
Also candles and handmade things that you can prepare especially for this occasion.
Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a good holiday. I did the Samhain Solitary Celebration for the New Year. After I lit the candle I wrapped myself up in Mom’s old jacket and I have a good family portrait of me, my Mom and my Dad hanging up by my computer desk. Nothing jumped off my walls or even made me think that Mom and Dad are around but I had a wonderful feeling of nostalgia all day. It was a wonderful little ritual and I thank @Francisco for sharing it.
A lovely ritual, @Christina4- and a very happy (belated) birthday to your daughter!
A beautiful altar, @Francisco! The pumpkins are wicked cute
I think it is absolutely okay to wait until the anniversary of their passing, @AmethystGlynae - and adding their photos is a lovely touch! Consider leaving an offering of their favorite foods or sweets, any items of theirs that you still have, a letter written to them, and candles or lanterns to light their way
That sounds like a lovely ritual, @Kasie- I am sure they are watching over you and sending you their love from beyond. Hope you had a blessed holiday as well!
I balanced fun times with past contemplations in my entry to this week’s challenge- feel free to check it out!
For all those who would like to participate in this challenge but have yet to do so, please be aware that:

Please share any experiences and entires by the deadline: TOMORROW, Tuesday November 3rd at 7:00AM CET (Central European Time Zone)
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and happy holiday- blessed be!
I feel secure in their love and that they’re around. Maybe that’s why I don’t get many signs, I don’t need them. Who knows? It could be that I’m head blind or something.
@kasie It makes me happy that you had a warm Samhain celebration at home!
I was lucky to go to a friend’s socially distanced birthday (outdoors with a bonfire) and met a local witch! So we talked Astrology and found things to burn (someone had brought peppermint!) all illuminated by the Full Moon!
This is my little altar set up
I have my tarot & oracle cards, candle, crystals, photos of my loved ones, and name tags from my two cats I had.
Crystals Used: Owl (yellow jasper or jade?) Witch Hat (black jade), Skull (crazy lace agate), Candy (yellow fluorite), Orange Tumble (orange calcite), Star (rhodonite), Point (smoky quartz)
Thanks, @Francisco. It sounds like you had a good time too! Peppermint on a bonfire, that must have smelled heavenly!
This is very beautiful, @Marissa! I love that you included your cats’ name tags- a very special and thoughtful touch I hope you had a blessed Samhain- wishing you a very Happy Witches’ New Year!

Aw thank you so much!
Dad and I keep and Altar up for Mom all the time. Pictures and things she made. It is fun to look through it from time to time and see what an incredible life she had. It helps Dad too. Although he looks at it less these days. I had such a nice ‘visit’ with her on Samhain. It was a real surprise to connect with her. For some reason I thought she would stay aloof. I could feel the love… Wonderfully healing.
That is a lovely altar for your mother, @Berta! And I think it’s wonderful you maintain it throughout the year So happy to hear you had such a nice Samhain and were able to connect with your mom again!
Your altar setup is beautiful
and gosh I looooove your crystals!!!
That’s really gorgeous @berta thank you for sharing it with us
