That list can get really long, really quick, lol!!
The Spells 8 Book Clubs are a great place to look (most recent one is linked). Coven members read different books and give their feedback/ thoughts on them. This is where I get most of my “must adds” and my list gets longer faster than I can read.
Some that I personally have read and like are:
- Honoring Your Ancestors: A Guide to Ancestral Veneration - great introduction book to working with your ancestors
- Green Witchcraft: A Practical Guide to Discovering the Magic of Plants, Herbs, Crystals, and Beyond - Great intro book for green witches; I still use it on a regular basis
- Astrology Made Easy: A Guide to Understanding Your Birth Chart - One I’m in the progress of reading but It is a good introduction to astrology. I also have her “Moonology” book and journals.
- Any of the books from Lisa Chamberlain. They are all great at explaining the various topics they cover (she covers everything!) and includes some basic spells/ rituals that you can adapt to make your own.
- Any books by Scott Cunningham but I love Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner and his encyclopedias the best.
- If you are a newbie to tarot, I think the best beginner book is The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot - Ever!! Dusty White not only gives you the traditional meanings of each card but has exercises where you walk through them and determine what they mean to you.
- All of Llewellyn’s sabbat series books are great! They give a history of each sabbat, old traditions, new traditions, recipes, and example rituals that you can perform as a solitary practitioner, as a coven, or as a community. This is the Ostara: Rituals, Recipes & Lore for the Spring Equinox (Llewellyn’s Sabbat Essentials Book 1)
I have many, many more but this is a good starting place.
