I have been making all of my own goodies for years, like embroidered altar cloths, my own herbs, candles and more. I am trying to launch my own online shop and would to see ideas of what you guys would love to see!
I’m excited to see your online shop, keep us posted!
For me, I’m a sucker for themed sets or surprise bags/boxes
Me too! I was hoping to do some of those!
Embroidered Altar Cloths??>? Oh I want one! sounds like you have a good handle on it, oils, and perfumes are fun, gees, go with your heart at to what feels right
I agree with Roxanne about the perfumes and oils. I saw you make soaps so probably magically infused soaps could be a good idea!
Candles too!
Yes, but I plan to make vegan soaps for that. All I currently have is beef fat soaps. I am planning to start a batch tomorrow!

This is the one I made for my own altar. It has glow in the dark thread…because I am a dork.
Glow in the dark is totally awesome!! How much for one ? I am jazzed!!! This one is totally gorgeous, and no not a dork, smart!!!
Glow in the dark thread is BRILLIANT, @chelsey1! I bet it looks amazing with the dim light from the candles- and such gorgeous embroidery too!
Ohhhh if you make soaps, would you consider making bath salt/bombs? Like an herbal mix to add to a bath .
I absolutely adore bath bombs, but so many of them are made with chemicals and icky things . I would love an all-natural herbal mix! Perhaps a purifying blend or a cleansing blend to bathe in before ritual work. I would also encourage a healing blend with oats and calendula or chamomile for those of us with sensitive skin .
Please share all the exciting things you choose to make as you add them to your store! I love seeing all the creative works everyone comes up with
I was thinking $35 for the altar cloths. They are a bit time consuming, but worth it!
Bath Bombs is another thing I plan on doing! I tried making one with lemon juice and baking soda, but it didn’t fizz. I will have to use citric acid. Otherwise I have dried out a ton of petals from my roses than I will powder, and make sure there isn’t large chunks of herbs. One thing that annoys me is having to scrape all the huge herbs out of my tub after a cleansing bath. Powdering them makes them go right down the drain and become one with the water, giving them a stronger effect in my opinion. I JUST got in all my bath bomb molds the other day!
I also plan on doing safer candles. I have purchased candles with herbs in them, and with the chunks of dried herbs…many times they light on fire and almost burn my house down. I am going to try powdering the herbs and see if that creates a safer candle as well. Luckily one of my fellow shop runners is a chandler. We use either soy, or natural beeswax for any candles created.
I hope to get some items on my shop today, so favorite on etsy at least: https://www.etsy.com/shop/BHistorical and stay tuned for products!
As a vegan, having the choice of soy candles sounds great! As well as the vegan soaps you mentioned earlier
Sent you a message on your Etsy site, I would like to order an altar cloth. Bath bombs are awesome, and yes some kind of candles that don’t explode!!
Ahhhh so exciting, @chelsey1 !!! I can’t wait to see how they turn out! I’ve made bath salt mixes in the past with different kinds of salt and herb mixtures- and you are so right about the issue of the herbs not dissolving and then having to wipe down the tub after each bath . I’ve found that herbs should either be powdered like you said, or large enough (like rose petals) to make it easy to scoop out and stop drain blockage (whoopsies!)
As much as I adore bath bombs I’ve never tried to make one for myself! I think it’s so exciting you’re giving it a go- I wish you all the best of luck, I’m sure you will come up with a fantastic mixture!
