@starborn it was not edible. You had to add a ton of corn syrup to get it to harden but not melt. I had made a log cabin complete with a porch, pond and boat! I have to look for those pictures!

We did duck pancakes this evening. The setup doesn’t look pretty, but they were delicious.

Mmm looks good what’s a pancake ? Only pancakes I know are the ones with maple syrup on them lol. Is that cucumber? What kind of sauce on the duck. Noticed ur new pic by the way. Very pretty  glad I can see u better  :heart_eyes_cat:

A flat thing, generally.

For example, one of the translations of the thing you ate is “scallion/green onion pancake.”

And where we’re from, “pancakes” are what you’d call “crepes.”

Then, of course, there are the lovely fluffy ones you speak of. I like mine with butter instead of maple syrup. But that’s just me. They’re also nice as part of a savoury breakfast, with bacon and eggs.

I also love mini pancakes with cream and jam. The place in particular I’m thinking of that sells them calls them Devonshire pancakes. :black_heart:

Consistency? Pssh. No consistency here.

The pancakes in the above are the thin flat things. I’ve wrapped one around the Lebanese cucumber and duck in with another sauce that’s a mix of Hoisin, sesame oil, soy sauce, and cornstarch.

The sauce the duck is in is… I think it’s commonly known as Peking duck sauce? Peking being another word for Beijing.

It’s mostly a combination of soy sauce, five spice powder, brown sugar, honey, and hoisin sauce.

Aww, thank you. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I was very shy about sharing the colour one in the selfie thread.

I noticed your beautiful new one as well. :black_heart:

Lebanese cucumbers are smaller, have smoother skin, and are slightly sweeter than the common cucumber. They’re a little firmer as well, so somewhere between a cucumber and a zucchini, I suppose.

Sounds really good all of it. Mmm making me hungry lol…

It’s ok lil one. Your very beautiful no need to be shy my friend your a cutie :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: also thankyou

What is the cream? Whipped cream or cream cheese? Or both

I think it counts as thickened cream.

When we have it at home, I will buy this for it:

I also use it on scones.

I think they’re called biscuits over there. But we call most cookies biscuits instead.

Word salad.

Is it sweet? Or taste like sour cream?

The cream? Slightly sweet. Neutral compared to other sweet things. Definitely not like sour cream, though.

I use it to balance out the sweetness of the jam. Without it, it just feels like a sugar explosion in your mouth.

I have to see if we have this here. Sounds right up my alley. I love anything creamy. Guilty pleasures.

I don’t feel like going to the store I’ll probably go after work on Thursday or Fri and get what we need. So Imma just make eggs again tonight but with sausage patties and pancakes with syrup

Looks like I can’t get that brand but there is this one!

And it even has my name just spelled different

It was made for you. And it looks good.

I’m starting to think a lot of the stuff we make here just isn’t sold overseas.

I could see that too. Not everything but a good portion yes. Like that grape juice drink I can get that here. I guess it just depends.

Ps does look good Imma have to try it

Oh, I meant stuff made in Australia. The grape juice drink… That’s the Korean one, yeah? I think that’s imported from Korea. Definitely not made here, anyway.

Oh yeah for sure. I mean. I’m sure we could get those things but shipping would probably be crazy

That would be like some unauthorised private seller buying from the manufacturers and shipping overseas, so even the base price would be too expensive.

I’ve seen somewhere selling TimTams and Shapes to the US for like triple the price, and I’m like, “What the heck is this…” :woman_facepalming:
