Where do you store your wand?

I know this sounds kinky, but really, where do you store your wands?

I love my wand but I don’t use it much. So I had it in a box on the top of my desk. Only problem was that I’m too short to reach it so if I wanted it, I couldn’t get to it without help.

I don’t like putting it in a drawer, but I’m afraid if I have it on my desk which also serves as my altar, I’ll break it. I’d get a wand stand but I have so many doo dads and decorations and other stuff on my desk there’s no room.

So yeah. Anyone got any ideas where I can stick my wand?

Sorry, just had to do that. I’m awful. Forgive me.

I have one that came to me, but I’ve never used it. It’s in my box, in a cloth bag where I store all my candles, spare crystals, bits and bobs for spells. It’s safe and with other magical items. It seems happy there.

See, I have a box but the only place to put it really is way up high. Only Sally can reach there cause she’s like, an Amazon. Who eats donuts, but yeah, tall. LOL!

, mines on the bottom shelf of my bookshelf.

The bottom of my bookshelf is double stuffed with books. Like really, Sally fusses because they fall out sometimes. LOL! My candles are in a Amazon box under my desk. I need to get a tote or something but there’s always something else I can spend my money on like candles or books or something. LOL!

For a time, I wore my wand in my belt. I made a pouch out of spare cloth from another project and sewed a belt loop on one end. When I wasn’t wearing it, I stored it in with my halloween outfit in an under bed box or in luggage in the closet.

My first wand stayed on my altar, making a triangle with my athame and my wishing goblet. In the open space, I kept my matches.

A wand holster would be neat, but I am not the most graceful person. The idea is not to break it. LOL! I may just sit it on one of my shelves on my desk and just show the end of it with the crystal sticking out.

I wish I had more room, but my apartment is tiny and I just don’t have the space.

I know the feeling. A friend of mine defined it as having to step outside to change your mind! Good luck finding the perfect place for your wand!

Thanks! I was looking at wall mounts for your wand but they are all for multiple wands, like for Harry Potter. At this point I might just attach a cord to it and use a Command hook. LOL!

That’ll work! Good way to keep it closer, too. Always at the ready when you need it, but out of the way, too.

Hey @Amethyst

I bought a glasses case for my wand, it has a zip and a hook so I can attach it to pretty much everything.

I don’t know if this is up your alley, but I bought this makeup case for my magickal stuff; it’s sturdy, lots of space and compartments, and it isn’t see-through so retains privacy well.

Here’s the UK link in case anyone is interested

That’s an awesome idea, but ~snerk~ my wand is bigger. :innocent: I like that idea though. I wonder if I could do something with a glue gun and some fabric?

I love that box, but I have WAY too much stuff. LOL! I have 62 gallon tote that’s full and more. Thanks for the idea though!

I like to keep my wand right at the edge () of my bookcase next to the altar, where it’s easy to grab. Together with my athame and chains :innocent:

A wand holster does sound like an interesting idea! :grinning_cat: I did recently get into leatherworking, maybe I could look into making one! :sparkles:

I’ve got two wands that I’ve made (one of wood and crystals, the other of clay and crystals), a little travel one and one from a witchy monthly kit. The ones I’ve made sit out of sight in my bookcase, the travel one is… somewhere? and the witchy kit one is a goddess themed, but I can’t remember who. Sorry, post-migraine hangover and brain isn’t braining. That one came with a nice box where it lives. Sorry post-migraine hangover and brain isn’t raining.

Basically I’m saying I don’t know how to store mine

There were a couple of suggestions about a wall clip. You could use the side of your book case point it down and it takes no room. Lots of things in hardware places to make neat wall clips.

I made a great wand when I first started. It looks nice. It’s in my box of stuff in the basement but it would rock if I ever decided I needed it

That is one cool athame.

I had a wand in my altar, made of selenite, but it broke during a move, and since that I dont have one, but I think in the altar gets all the magic of the things you have there. .

I was looking for something like that, especially because I travel a lot (blame my job) and I want to take some of my magic stuff with me, to set an altar whenever I have to go. Thanks for the sharing!

Good idea! And I love your athame!

You’re crafty, I bet you could make a great holster for it!

Glad it’s not just me. LOL!

I may do that. I just don’t know how to put a cord or loop or something on my wand without making it lood odd.

There are wand holders on Amazon, I just don’t have room for one on my desk. You should display it!

True. I may have to move a few things to make room but I may put it on one of my shelves on the top of my desk.

I have my wand on my wall with command hooks right now! One day I am going to construct a pretty wand hanger! I do most of my practice in my office (which is decorated with a Harry Potter theme) and so it’s easy for my to have my witchy goodies out in plain sight! The top two wands are Harry Potter replicas. The bottom wand is mine. I don’t use it a lot either, but it makes me happy that I have it!
