I tend to find mine are very accurate however donāt get me wrong i do not hardly know the science or mathematics behind things it is more for enlightenment purposes. As for me as a Leo, it says:
What type of person is a Leo?
Typical sun in Leo traits include being confident, comfortable being the center of attention, drama-adoring, ambitious, loyal, fiercely protective of their nearest and dearest, generous, luxury-loving, sunny, and big-hearted.
Who doesnāt love a challenge. I think without them i would be bored out of my brains, but thatās not to say i do not generally like them while i am working them out just the after feeling when i work things out tends to be the biggest reward
Just a lucky guess based on what you said! Being on a cusp is one possible explanation for why some traits of a sign would apply but others not so much. Alan shared another, and I imagine, with how vast and exciting astrology is, there are even more possibilities out there that could be explored
From what Iāve seen around, some astrologers do consider Ophiuchus in their calculations- it seems to depend on which school of astrological thought you follow.
The way I was taught is that modern astrology is different from astrology in ancient times (as things have naturally changed)- modern astrology is fixed on the solstices and equinoxes that we have in our Gregorian calendar. Hereās a quote about it:
I suppose the best anyone can do is to explore different ideas and definitions, compare schools of thought, and then use whatever feels most right to them! The fun thing about astrology is that there doesnāt seem to be many limits- thereās a lot of freedom in this area of study
I know the feeling! (So no worries- it wonāt be a formal challenge, at least not around here! )
Exactly! My point was (clumsily stated ) is that, since the Sun is seldom in the Constellation that bears the Zodiac name now, for many of us it may be more useful to use the CURRENT Sun-Constellation placement and work from there. For example, many Geminiās who find that their standard horoscopes or charts rarely apply might want to read the info for Taurus, etc.
We do it for all the planet placements, so why not for the Sun as well, for some of us at least rather than give it up all together because too much doesnāt apply.
Heck, it may be another fun layer!
Ah, I see- and I agree! The current placement is definitely something worth exploring if someone isnāt connecting with their sun sign.
I think itās pretty neat that we have a list of things to check when someone has sign dissonance- itās a bit like some kind of astrologer-doctor going down the list of āsymptomsā to figure out a sun sign diagnosis and help someone connect with their sign!
There really are so many fun layers to explore in Astrology!
Thereās certainly enough material when it comes to Astrology to be a degree!
Iāve seen degrees being offered in Astronomy- I wonder if there are any colleges or universities out there that offer a four-year program in Astrology? In such a diverse area of study, I imagine it would be hard to make just one curriculum for a whole class!
I do love astrology & learning its different facets. I recently found out that hmmmā¦ I donāt have it in front of me but I believe itās my brotherā¦ he has no planets in retrograde in his chart. I had to check, double-check, & check again I was in complete disbelief.
If I wasnāt already taking a set of courses, I would probably look into more Astrology ones past the basic ones that I have taken.
While the other elements seem to be scattered around, all Air Elemental Zodiacs are in the top half of the poll(currently: Aquarius #1, Gemini #2, and Libra #5)(I read the poll by positions instead of percentage- whoops! Itās actually Aquarius and Gemini tied for #1, and Libra tied for #3)
Perhaps Air Elemental Zodiacs (often associated with intellect, knowledge, and space) tend to be particularly drawn towards astrology?
I think itās pretty funny from a Scorpio perspective When I first learned about astrology and being a Scorpio Sun, I always read that Scorpios tend to be drawn to the mysterious and the occult. Iāve never been surprised to find so many Scorpio Suns in witchcraft spaces. So it makes me laugh to see Scorpio in the bottom three in the poll!
@TheMuslimWitch Iām curious about it too! If you ever come across an interesting university astrology program, feel free to share it here!
@MeganB Thatās a good point- perhaps Scorpios just arenāt as fond of polls? Although I doubt thatās it, since many of the Scorpios I know love polls and quizzes and things like that (myself included)
@MeganB I was pretty surprised too seeing Scorpio in the bottom half I agree also that the Scorpio suns I know tend to do polls & quizzesā¦ maybe they just arenāt answering this one quite yet or donāt do polls
@BryWisteria@Susurrus ā maybe we just donāt have as many Scorpios here as I thought we did? Or youāre right, maybe there are just not as many Scorpio answers yet!
Sure defiantly will. Have to do some research to see if there are. Would prefer in class but with a busy life flexible at home online would be just as rewarding
I did expect scorpio to be higher to be honestš¤£. However, i am not suprised that Aquarius is at the top either. They tend to enjoy things that are a bit out of the ordinary. They tend to love spiritual practices and digging deep to discover and understand the unknown.they are the free spirits of the zodiac and tend to reject mainstream religion and look for alternative, nontraditional methods of understnading themselves. Being ruled by Uranus also means that this sign doesnt care if you think their crazy for beleiving in astrology because it gives them the sense of freedom and individuality that they crave.
I read somewhere that if astrology itself had a sunsign, it would be Aquariusš¤£
Its interesting that Taurus (my sun) is virtually at the bottom. I love astrology! But then i look at aquarius at the top (my moon) and gemini at second (my ascendant) and think that might be what fuels my interest.
This could be it! 50 responses is a small sampling of the witchy community as a whole. Perhaps as more answers come in, more Scorpios (as well as other signs) will speak up and the numbers will shift around some more
Iām looking forward to seeing how it plays out over time!
Youāre right! Maybe itās that spicy Scorpio passion- once we get our claws into something we love, weāre sticking around for the long run!
Thatās a really nice association for Scorpio suns!
Agreed! Thereās definitely pros and cons to both sides of online vs at home education. Both are good in their own ways!
I hope you can find a fun program that interests you!
Hahaha I love this- and from the current results, it seems to be true!
Moon and rising/ascendant can be pretty powerful influences- with your Aquarius and Gemini (#1 and #2 for astrology-lovers right now), I can definitely see them being factors in your love and enthusiasm for astrology!
Me, too! This will be a good one to keep track of over time.
I always thought so, too! I remember reading about my sun sign a long time ago. One of the suggested career paths for a Scorpio Sun was a judge and likeā¦no thank you, but I can also understand it because Scorpio Suns tend to be logical in their thinking when it comes to making decisions. Well, thatās my experience, anyway. I may hate making the decisions and feeling the feelings but I damn sure will make the decision after thinking it through 100%
That could be it! With my limited scope of astrology knowledge, I do know that itās more than our Sun Signs that make up who we are and what we enjoy. That would make the most sense!
