A spell for honoring the return of the Sun.
You’ll need:
Yourself: A quiet moment (indoors or outdoors)
White Candle: or other light source
Steps:
Pause.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Feel the dark around you—not as emptiness, but as a soft blanket. Whisper: “The longest night has come and gone. I honor the dark that holds the light.”
Breathe. Really take some time here and connect with your breath. Don’t just think about the things you are releasing…feel them being released. Image what you would feel like without the things that are weighing you down.
Take three slow breaths. With each exhale, imagine releasing what you no longer need—worry, clutter, a person, a bad habit, stale energy. Etc…
With each inhale, draw in a gentle spark of light—hope, renewal, peace and joy. Again FEEL this. What would it feel like in your body to feel peace. To feel hope…etc.
Call the Light.
Rub your hands together until they’re warm. Hold them near your heart or over your face. Feel the warmth you’ve made. Say: “From my own hands, I summon the returning sun. May its warmth grow within and around me.”
Offer Gratitude.
Speak thanks aloud—for the lessons of the dark, for the promise of light, for simply being here.
End with a gesture.
You can raise your hands to the sky, bow your head, or simply smile. That’s your seal.![]()
Blessings
