Welcome to the club!!!:partying_face: Take your time to look around.

This is how I was approached in choosing a name. Take your birthday, and add up the numbers, mine 12-17-1964. 1+2=3, plus 1+7=11, plus 1+9+6+4=31=4. Find a name that you like that equals the number of your birthday….my original middle name is Gene, and it equals 4. The way the letters work, is make a chart, number 1-9, fill in the alphabet, such as square 1 has A, square 2 has B, square 3 has C, and so on. That is how I ended up with my middle name working out. GENE , E’s are 5, and G is 7, together 22, = 4. That is how I chose mine. So, take your birthday, adding the numbers to get the smallest number possible. Choose a name, see if it totals ā€œdownā€ to the same number. If it is a name that you really want, see if you can alter the spelling so that the letters will make it to your number. (I’m thinking instead of an I sound, maybe change it to a Y or an E…whatever works):smiley:

It’s my second name, with my first love’s maiden name :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: Also it describes my love of the Moon and the night sky.

Energy work, shadow work, dream interpretation, tarot and astrology. Those are kinda the core of my practice. Shamanism, tantra and dark goddesses deserve a mention too.

I’m taking a 9 month live course on energy and sound healing with a shamanic touch. I’m also constantly studying more tarot and astrology, as they’re rabbit holes that keep giving :joy: Same goes for exploring my shadow, and my emotional intensity. I’m also studying energy vampirism, to find healthy and consensual ways to satisfy that hunger in me, and to avoid unconsciously depleting people’s energy. (Sorry if I’ve been nomming on you :joy:) Kinda related to that, I’m also looking into siren magick. I’m a water and fire kind of girl :ocean: :mermaid: :fire:

I’m working on an online booking system that might be useful for me and my future energy healer colleagues :blush: I used to be a web developer in my previous life, now I weave magick :smile:

A little houseplant named Delilah, she’s a four-year old poinsettia :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: Most just get them for Christmas here and then throw away. Not a thing to do to a living creature. She’s about four times her original size now, and all green. I tried to get her to grow some more bright red leaves in the darkness, but she didn’t want to. I love her anyway. :green_heart:

Since that huge global pandemic named after the crown chakra… 6 years now. Dream interpretation for 25 years or so, some kind of intuitive energy work, shadow work and mystical thinking pretty much all my life. 38 years of it now. I also believe this is not my first life as some kind of a magickal practitioner.

  • What themes call to you in your practice?

I feel drawn to the darker side of the craft, our shadow, and everything often considered ā€œforbiddenā€ or ā€œtabooā€. Not to cause harm (unless absolutely called for), though it’s interesting asking why and how. It helps with more thorough healing, from the inside out. And I absolutely love asking the questions I ā€œshouldn’tā€ ask :cat_with_wry_smile:

All kinds of altered states. Life and death. Ecstasy, sexual and otherwise. How energy moves and how to guide it. Who and what we are, and what all of this is really about. And how to become more loving and conscious, and inspire that in others too.

There are several ways to proceed.

Numerology based: as the lovely @leilani1 posted, count up the digits in your birthdate or the date you chose to become a witch. If that is 1/1/2026, your number would be 1+1+2+2+6= 12 and reduce 1+2=3. Then take a subject or name you like and see if it equals the date, with each letter corresponding to a number. Forgive this table if it doesn’t line up properly.

This may be the hardest way or it can be the most fun, depending on you.

Third is to seek something from an intense dream or meditation.

Fourth, accept a name from cherished loved ones.

At the moment, I’m in a Do Over phase. This was not chosen, but forced upon me and fought tooth and nail only because the initiation of the phase was so rude and unexpected. When I decided to surrender, I was offered a glimpse of the path. Good path, indecent force, still upset at the lack of communication from a supposed ā€œguide.ā€

Very much like my Schlumbergera Truncata (whataname) which actually was thrown away by someone. On the street! Kicked to the curb!! Poor little thing, I took her home and pampered her. I swear to you, that little plant radiated sadness…it was heart breaking. This was five years ago, today she is BIG, happy and she blooms all year round. Normally they only bloom in December. :laughing:

Superb Saturday Katharina,

This name reminded me of….when I lived in Laredo, Tx, we were having a VERY rough time (does drive-by shootings and threats by the police and their ā€œhomiesā€ count as very stressful?), we were ā€œunemployableā€ so I started being ā€œthe burrito ladyā€ for the oil companies about 1 mile away. I got up about 3 am made 2 different types of breakfast burritos and went down the block (about 3 blocks long) of all the oil companies in the morning, and the guys would buy my burritos for $2 (this was 2000-2001). Homemade and cheap. I usually sold out my 60 burritos in about an hour. Just to turn it around and do it again next morning. Well, it kept us afloat until one of the offices decided to hire me as their secretary. Anyway, long intro, for….the name Schlumberger……I always wondered what it was. I knew it was German, by the spelling, but that was all. Now your plant is Schlumbergera?! What does ā€œslumber-jayā€ mean? Schlumberger was the largest oil company on that street. I always sold to them first, because they would almost buy me out, (probably 30-40 of my burritos in the morning). Anyway, I’m yapping too much as usual.
