⚕ WITCH CHALLENGE - Healing Magick

CHALLENGE ENTRY 1

Herbal remedies is an area that has always been of interest to me, although I have never had the time to apply myself to this area. Post children and now in the grand-children stage as well as winding down at work, I will be trying to learn a lot more about herbal remedies. I grow my own herbs, and love cooking with them as well, so this would be an extension of what I already do.

I have recently enrolled in a few courses with “The Centre for Excellence” around herbal remedies which is very exciting.

· Master Herbalist

· Advanced Master Herbalist

· Magical Herbalism

· Herb Gardening

· Holistic Herbal Product Making

I also have a few good books on the subject as well:

· The lost book of herbal remedies by Nicole Apelian, Ph.D & Claude Davis 2020

· Ancient Remedies Revived by Shanon Greef & Natalie Willow 2024

· The Natural Healing Book by Ancient Remedies 2024

· The Sacred Science Series – Remedy: Ancient Medicine for Modern Illness 2018 (book & dvd’s)

A long time ago Comfrey Tea was readily available on the market but has long since been taken off the market due to the toxicity of comfrey when induced. I have my own bush so plan to make my own tea, drunk in limited quantities of course.

I suppose healing magic comes in many forms. For me I look toward the health and healing both internally and externally through herbs, foods, remedies, and herbal teas. Then there are my awesome chakra crystal sound bowls which I am in the process of setting up on a slab of timber from the fork of a tree shaped in a u-shape. I can sit in the middle and have my sound bowls in a semi-circle around me. I also have a couple of Tibetan Singing Bowls but have never got the knack of playing them, although my husband can play them with ease.

So, lots to learn!

Happy 1st of July.

Blessed Be.

CHALLENGE ENTRY 2 - HORSETAIL

I make a herbal rinse for my dog Lyric. She is a grey merle Kookie and was born with a defect in her coat hair. She has no topcoat on most of her body but does have a nice topcoat coverage on her head and around her neck and chest and on the underneath of her tail and bottom. The rest is just a lovely soft fluffy grey merle coat. Mind you the cobbler pegs and prickles love to stick to her. So, considering this I did a bit of research into what I could do to help her and came up with “Horsetail”.

Horsetail “Equisetum arvense.

It has been considered a weed as it is hard to eradicate. It grows easily and spreads by spores instead of seeds. I don’t have any but plan on trying to source this plant in Australia. Horsetail is very high in “Silica” which benefits joints and connective tissue. It is a gentle diuretic, astringent and styptic. Because of the high amount of silica it promotes strong hair, teeth and bones and increases bone density in people with osteoporosis if used consistently. I make a hair rinse which used consistently strengthens the hair. A tooth powder can also help with cavities and enamel repair.

HORSETAIL RINSE

  • 3 Tsp of dried horsetail per 250ml water
  • Boil for 10 minutes
  • Let infuse for 15 minutes plus.
  • Pour into clean sterilised bottles.

HORSETAIL TEA

  • 2 Tsp of dried horsetail leaves in a tea bag
  • Boil for 10 minutes
  • Drink at your leisure

Blessed Be

Challenge Entry:

It seems like it’s been forever since I have actually had the chance to get up here and catch up on everything. It really has been a while since I have joined in on a challenge though. Of course the universe called to me to come check it out now during this challenge… So every since I was a little girl my aunt has told me “Carol, you know your a healer, use it and don’t you dare abuse it” When I was a kid I would just look at her like she was crazy. When she would mention healing around my friends I would apologize for my (weird) aunt who is “a little out there”. Now, I am the weird one who is “a little out there”. I’m not sure how she knew, but she did, my mom says, from the moment I was born. She would never elaborate or tell me how to heal or really anything but telling me that that’s what I was. I believe she wanted me to discover and embrace it on my own and in my own way. I deeply regret not listening to her and not coming into my healing powers before she passed away. I know she is still with me in spirit and sometimes I can even feel her presence when I am doing a healing session. I am in school to become a clinically certified Hypnotherapist now and have truly found my calling with it. When I was younger there were a few times I healed people who were close to me without really knowing how I did it at the time. Now, I suspect it was some sort of Reki, or energy work done on an unconscious level.

I have really missed ya’ll, and am glad to be back. I am going to make more of an effort to spend at least a little time here each week. My life is enriched in a way I can’t explain when I am active here vs when I’m not. For me this coven in itself is one of my healers and I am grateful for that.

@carol3 Hi Carol and Merry Meet I know that we have not met.

Congratulations discovering your calling as a Hypnotherapist. Our relatives know what we are before we do and I am glad that Aunt guided you to where you are now. Your Mother will be watching your progress as they do not really leave just need to look for signs which some can be noticeable like repeating Angel Numbers and others can be so subtle than most people do not see. Feeling her around you is a good sign. When will you qualify.? My cousin has completed a Reki Course and she can now practice. She loves it. I am sure you will excel in your practice.

Modern life is so busy being pulled in different directions by family (extended), animals, home and work commitment, be kind to yourself and call in when you have sometime it would be lovely getting to know you. Your entry was wonderful to read.

I am from a small village in Lancashire, England.:united_kingdom:

I am deeply connected to my ancestors and past beloved dogs, spirts the Hedge, forkore traditions. I am also drawn to the Moon in particular but also align with the Sun, the Elements, nature, oceans. I write and create my own spells which is both exciting and rewarding.

With love & light :waning_gibbous_moon::green_heart:

Glad to have you back!

When I was young, I may have at least wondered how one could possibly abuse the gift of healing, yet it can be done. Our challenges are necessary parts of our lives. May you find the balance necessary to be the best you can be, knowing that sometimes it is best to let go.

I have noticed this in my life as well. This really is a special place with wonderful people! :sparkling_heart:

@kirsty4 I have the same exact Altar Cloth and I absolutely love it!!! And I see your wand there in the first picture, and it looks beautiful! I’d love to see it better. I just recently found my wand (or maybe it found me??? :woman_shrugging:t3::blush:) at a local Flea Mall, and it was hand made locally and it was just so beautiful. The first one I ever bought was from Amazon and I instantly could tell the crystals that were inlaid down the middle of the wand were fakes and I was so let down! Lol. Anyways getting off topic here… love your entry though!!! Good one! I love reading everyone else’s unique ways of practicing their magic!! :sparkles:

Hey Moonbeam

So nice to meet you, and thank you for responding to my post. I only have 3 month left before qualifying as a Master Hypnotist. I won’t become a clinical hypnotherapist for another year though. I am most deeply drawn to the moon, (I have a tattoo of the moon on my forearm) although I resonate with all bodies of water, the river a little more so than the ocean. That probably being that the river is in my backyard, and the closest ocean is over an hour away from me.
