I remember one year, we had a particularly dreary November. It had been 28 days without a clearing. The weather man joked that the big orange thing in the sky was the sun: we hadn’t seen it in a month, and we might not recognize it.
It really is stunning! And it must be amazing during summer time.
Yes!!
Our weather man ran out of jokes eight weeks ago…
That is simply the downside of this particular aera, that clouds will hang around for ages. But not long, a few weeks and then things are going to get warmer, sunnier and happier again. I can´t wait to see the first green buds on the trees, this is something I´m always watching out for.
Isn’t that an amazing feeling? I remember when I first started doing that. You just feel so connected with it all. Of course, one day I was out in the front yard by the road talking to some plants I was putting in the ground, and talking to the other plants that were already there. I was so engrossed I did not see my neighbor who had walked over to see me. He must have heard a good part of my conversation. I decided to lean into it and told him I was just talking to my flowers.
Here´s a little thing I will do everytime I´m throwing out the trash: as I´m holding the trash bag in my hand, I´m visualising all my emotional/spiritual/energetic/mental “garbage” to flow into this trashbag and then I´m throwing it out as well.
@leilani1 Same! I’ve been a witch for much, much longer than I knew! On top of that, things my grandmother instilled in me from childhood that I just assumed were things all grandmothers told their grandchildren… straight up craft training on the sly!
It’s a beautiful sky, grey spell casting is wonderful for neutralising stagnant energy, releasing stress. I collect the rain water when it rains, put it in spell bottles and after blessing it with place it in the 4 directions in my house on windowsills.
Sitting under a sky like that is also wonderful to release after a long day. Sun energy is great but a shielded sky does just that, shields. Great picture, your city looks lovely.
How wonderful you had someone to guide you along the path. All my people were dead by the time I was 5, just mother, me, aunt and uncle. My aunt and uncle gave me a small introduction (aunt gave me alittle pocket-book about witchcraft and uncle talked to me about I Ching and Ankhs, but that’s it, most of it was intuitive )

I have “talked to the animals” (Doctor Dolittle) since I was a kid. Not quite the “dog-whisperer” but I have been “caught” talking to coyotes. I talk to the trees especially when I am walking to the bus, I find myself apologizing for their mistreatment by the homeowner. We live in an “established” neighborhood (nice way of saying old, our house was built in 1968) and many of the trees the new owners are cutting down. So, I speak to them, thank them for their beauty and shade, and apologize that people are cutting them down, and how appreciative I am for their “service” Who cares what others think? We cannot live our lives worrying about others opinions of us, we need only be concerned with our opinion of ourselves. We have to be comfortable with our ownselves, before we can initiate any change on any level in our own “sphere”.
That’s lovely, @leilani1 I can’t help feeling frustrated by how many trees are being destroyed for new builds. The impact on wildlife is heartbreaking — homes lost, ecosystems disrupted. Nature always seems to pay the highest price.
Something I recently started doing. When I hang laundry out to dry I ask the sun and wind not only dry the clothes but remove unwanted energies and infuse the items with love happiness and protection. As I’m taking the laundry down I say a few words of gratitude
That is wonderful. I am always looking for ways to “bless” during my daytime. That is a wonderful practice. Like Katharina, says “prayers” to release negativity when she tosses out the garbage. Another daily ritual I will start using.
Thank-you ladies, for showing how we can incorporate our Craft in our daily lives.
I have two Glass Crystal Water Bottles one that I use for Sun Water and the other for Moon Water the crystals come with the bottle, but you can completely change them as the bottle has a fully interchangeable crystal chamber which is great as you can charge your water for your intention.
When I receive a bouquet of flowers or my family and friends if any of the blooms are still ok I harvest them and dry them out ready for using this saves money and the flowers are still being use instead of just being thrown away.
i was just talking to a tiny spider yesterday, i was like well hello friend, i like you and all, i just don’t want you crawling on me, so back to the grass you go
Thank you for proving me with an enlightening and inspiring ritual. I will definitely be incorporating this once the weather improves enough for my laundry to be dried outside.
It uses all 5 elements
The sun as fire
The wind as air
The water coming out the clothiers
The earth being outside
The spirt being your intention
I had the very same thoughts. I am new to this path and often find myself realizing though out the day how each element has made an impact on what I happen to be doing at that time and how with out the elements all working together and connecting whatever I was doing simply wouldn’t be possible
I believe everyday there is a chance to learn something new and with a broad array of like minded people who share the same values this brings positive changes and ideas into your life.
I am a Eclectic Witch my divinations are crystals, tarot, runes, Lenormand, candle magic, tending outdoor, indoor plants and growing herbs to make spell jars & spell pouches, very drawn to the 5 elements and crystals as these are formed from the earth, regularly make sun & moon water, water meditation in the shower and home cleansing. I try to be in the moment and look for subtle signs from nature and your idea fits perfectly in with daily life. I am doing the daily Oracle Cards which is my new go to.
I try to simplify, balance and live intentionally buy regularly declutterring both home & digital and use resetting routines, to create a calm, peaceful, relaxing home for my family and animals. I regularly check monthly to see what has worked and anything needs altering. This allows me to have more time in learning my craft and self-care which is important.
