Okay, sheās not a woman of many words. But may she empower you to be your best self today and forever. ![]()

I feel the same so often.
If it werenāt for my devotionals having set days, Iād never start paying attention!
I started reading a little into the Qliphoth, and it all starts with Lilith, so I thought Iād share some snippets.

I thought this was beautiful, from the same book

(And one that I can share here, there were some quite bold ones there too
)
The cold, bleak desert winds whip across the sand dunes as a bringer of change, and in the winds of the western desert I find myself standing, wrapped in traveling garb, and surveying the oncoming tempest. No civilization in sight; just the deep richness of the night sky above me, revealing unforetold mysteries and aspirations, hidden in the ancient temples of the deities that reside in other worlds. I stand with sand on my boots in the desert of Set, journeying further than ever before. My body is weathered from the experiences in the desert thus far, and I stand ready to continue my journey, with all I need on my person. The acrid air reminds me that no matter what Iāve been through, I live, and through this life I will continue through the dark and unknown places that have hidden treasures awaiting me, and I will endure the winds and the sand to enter the gates of the palace of ancient wisdom.
Though cut by wind and bleached by the sun I continue on my journey, driven onwards by the promise of wise riches that await me. She calls to me like a siren, promising fulfillment and relief. The heat of the desert bakes my skin to the point I can feel every heart beat and every vessel of my blood, rhythmic and pulsing. It is sheer force of will that carries me through the desert and spurs me onward. It is the knowledge on the horizon that propels me forward, and it is only time that stands in my way, yet is also my faithful and eternal companion; time, and the wind. The dry desert wind cuts through me like a sharpened sword, and it is through this cutting that I purge what is no longer necessary to make myself a better receptacle for the fruits of the desert. It is through this purification process that I find wholeness and healing, and thereby come to know the planes of existence that are as fine as the grains of sand beneath my feet. While I know bleakness and desolation of scenery, I also know solitude, self reliance, and peace.
Finally my journey comes to an end as I stand at the gates of the palace of the desert of night. I see no guards, but I know it is guarded. I see no signs of life, yet I expect none, either. The monolith of her palace opens itself to me, and I enter with full force, striding confidently in, humbled after the arduous journey, purified through the desert wind, yearning for her comfort to release me from my travails. As I shuffle into her throne room, I am not disappointed by her vision, and as my eyes gaze upon her, I know that I am home.

From Lilith: Dark Feminine Archetype by Asenath Mason, we see Lilith in a pathworking role. Itās interesting how there are so many visualisations that start in the desert. It makes sense, especially for Lilith, but nevertheless, is interesting.
Pathworking
Another connection with Lilith and the owl is found in desert ruins, associated with its dwelling place. Lilith had fled to the wilderness, and it was believed that these creatures were the servants of Lilith or Lilith herself.
This is ideally performed during the new moon period, at night and at a time when you know you will not be disturbed. Turn off all lights accept for a single black candle in front of you. Close your eyes and take long shallow breaths, breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. As you breathe out, breathe through the teeth and tongue. When you are ready, you may either keep your eyes closed or open them and focus on the candle.
You are in a desert among the stones of a ruined temple which was abandoned long ago and left to the elements and the creatures that now inhabit it. The only light is from the stars. It is a brilliant clear night, cold and made even colder by the desert wind - you can hear it singing through the stones and bringing sprays of sand into your face. You walk through the ruins, being careful not to trip on any small stones or boulders in the way while your feet sink into the sand, which slows down your pace. The stones are cool to the touch, some rough and some smooth. As you slowly walk, you hear the coyote howling in the distance as you make your way forward through the ruins and come to the center where there is a clearing. In the wind you hear a screeching voice in the distance accompanied by a shadow moving briefly in front of the stars. As it gets closer, it begins to change into something else. The body becomes longer transforming into the shape of a woman. Her feet remain as claws. She is naked, her hair is wild as she approaches you. As she comes closer, her features become more defined and the atmosphere becomes thicker and even more charged than it was previously.
How Lilith appears to you and what she has to teach you is an individual matter and will not mean the same thing to everyone. She is an initiator, so be aware that her lessons will be harsh and she will not give gifts freely. There is always a price to pay for knowledge and spiritual progress.

Gods and Goddesses of Creativity and the Arts šØ got me thinking about Lilith. The following is from Lilith: Dark Feminine Archetype by Asenath Mason, which I am working through on Fridays.
The Creative Fire: An Invocation to Lilith
By Katie Anderson
In the centuries that followed the medieval period, varied artists and philosophers re-envisioned Lilithās roles in religious and lay culture and society. Magicians and scholars began exploring her myths in ways that challenge the personal, societal, and cultural limitations and taboos leftover from Abrahamic religion. Within the last two centuries, feminism has found a guiding spirit in Lilith as the creative fire moving in time with the pulse of the heart of the Earth. The wild sexuality embodied by Lilith that was honored in the ancient world was feared and despised by Abrahamic religions. The creative fire that Lilith embodies is the power of the dark feminine that resides within the sphere of Binah on the tree of life, and the understanding that in order to create a new form, one must first destroy an old one.
This invocation of Lilith focuses on the creative fire of the dark feminine. It is followed by gnosis that was received from the invocation. During the course of my initial work with this invocation, the entire time set aside was devoted to automatic painting. Automatic painting is an extension of automatic drawing, an art form whereby the operator suspends the logical mind to allow an interceding spirit to guide the operatorās hand in the operation. In the case of this invocation, the operation is guided by Lilith.
Queen of eternal darkness, the screeching owl flying on the wings of the night!
The desert winds whisper the secrets of your unholy embrace.
Ardat Lili!
Voluptuous Demon of the Night!
Queen of the most beautiful death!
Mother of Harlots, Vamps and Whores, whose kiss untethers the wild heart and sets the spirit free!
Great Whore of Babylon!
Terrifying are you who grants life to the dying and sight to the blind!
Blood flows from the caverns of the sacred Huluppu tree, feeding your children and calling their return. Within them you stir the passions of Lust, inflicting the wound of Desire!
Lilith, yours are the fires of the Black Serpent!
Your names and incantations conquer all shame and fear!
Your names and incantations conquer the curse of Death and cause the serpent fires to rise triumphantly!
I call you by your ancient names!
Lilith! Naamah! Isheth Zenunim! Alilat! Ereshkigal! Al-uzza! Ishtar!
I offer you this flesh.
May my body be a suitable vessel for your spirit.
I didnāt follow the above exactly, as I was using it for slightly different purposes, but it worked out well. ![]()
I contemplated the creative fire, which burns brilliantly until its energy is spent. No wonder we call it āburnoutā when we exhaust ourselves by working hard on an endeavour.
The concept of desire always comes up with Lilith, and I have to remind myself that not all desire is sensual or sexual. One can desire anything, even a sense of some state that does not exist. So, I suppose that all desires are not equal. ![]()
I believe I must have direction and controlled boundaries before the fire can safely be lit to ensure that it stays within acceptable bounds. I do not wish to let myself stray into becoming a tool for the desires of others. When impassioned with creativity, itās easy to do and forget to ask why.
Freedom, then, is only possible within a confined space. Whether thatās the borders of the canvas which I paint, the span of the lifetime my body can hold out through, or the restrictions I impose upon myself to either foster greater creativity or protect myself from external forces.
Another topic that came up was the path before me. I must forge my own path by doing and making mistakes along the way. I need to learn from these mistakes and keep striving to become a better version of myself all the time. But that isnāt really breaking news now, is it?
Reminders can be nice, however.
And thatās generally that.

How gorgeous~

Desire really is like fire that itās often compared to, it burns and it consumes, it warms, itās hot and passionateā¦
Sexual or otherwise. With sexuality itās more easily perceivable I think, thatās why itās so often used as an example (and reduced to). Not to mention how suppressed and controlled it has been through the history. Desire looooves to be contained, it loves to be told itās not allowed to exist. It bides its time in the dark, growing in silence, until itās time for it to explode like a volcano
It also loves being completely given into, it can take control and plunge your life into chaos, just like setting your house on fire, dancing in the light of the flames and smearing the ashes on your naked body. Thereās beauty and danger in it, and that to me is Lilith
