So this week, I have been spending time with the air element-while I have been finishing up a wand for myself and I realized that this practice is about learning about myself. I have and have had spiritual altars for the path, I was following and they had things on the altar that were divined by a mentor for me to have or what I thought I should have. And as I am coming back to this, realizing that my altar is for what I need. And it is separate from my spiritual practice. My altar is my workshop and lab and happy place celebrating me. Just a thought and a release and a relief.

Excellent conclusion! I like the ideas expressed here. Since I tend to overdecorate, I need to make space for me.

I actually have 3 altars. I have my spiritual altar where I do my spells and such. Then I have an ancestors altar where I have items to remember my family members who have passed. And my favorite is my self love altar. It has things on it that remind me to take care of me. I meditate at this altar as well.
Your altar is you. No matter how many separate ones you have or if you have just one. Decorate it how ever feels good to you.
