I just used what I could find on my property…and it turned out ok.
That’s two of us! I think your entire home looks super interesting @roxanne!!
I am not very good in ‘‘art & crafts’’ so unfortunately I will not be making my own. But we have a tourist attraction Called UPPER CANADA VILLAGE where they actually make them by hand during the course of the summer and visitors can buy them.
I will engrave my magikal name and decorate it, of course.
Just another options for those who like me have not been given the gift of creative talent
Village broom maker, how cool is that!! Thanks for the info!
That’s really cool! And honestly, there is absolutely nothing wrong with buying a besom instead of making one
I wanted to make my own besom after loving making my own wand, but trying to find the resources for what I envisioned making in my head was more daunting than I realized. So I had one handmade from the shop Witchywoodgift on Etsy. Its in Ukraine, so it took about 3.5 weeks to get here (which was shorter than the quoted time, (extra surprising bc covid)) but I got it in the mail today, and I’ve never been more enamored with one of my tools! I literally felt like Harry Potter when he got his broom and I couldn’t love it more. So, if you’re looking for one, they’re great, and they let you customize it a bit! I’ll upload a picture in the morning so I can get it in it’s full glory
That sounds super cool, can’t wait for the picture!
I have to admit that I bought my besom for only a couple euro at a halloween store; it was originally meant to function as witchy decoration but it works well enough for me!
Nice! Practicality is always a win I forgot to upload the pics this am, bit I just put them up!
That’s beautiful!! I can see why you felt like Harry Potter!
Here’s a quick spell you can do with your new besom!
With your broom in your hand, face your altar and take a deep breath. Use your thoughts to being clearing the space around you of any negative energy.
Use your broom to sweep the area around your altar in a counterclockwise motion, beginning in the middle and continually moving outward from there.
Sweep away all unwanted energy. Now take another deep breath and with your mind energy, fill the space with an aura of prosperity. Do this by envisioning everything you can think of that means prosperity to you.
Using your broom, again sweep your altar beginning in the middle, but this time sweep clockwise, all the while imagining images of prosperity until their energy fills the space. As you do so, turn your mind toward sweeping extraordiinary success to you while saying this affirmation:
“Tonight and every night, I sweep prosperity and abundance into my life.”

Thank you so much Francisco!! I was looking for a ritual to use it with after consecration! I can’t wait to try it! Also, thanks for creating such an awesome platform to learn and meet other witches. Ive just started telling a few friends that I’m a witch, which has been awesome, but it’s really nice to be able to come here to reference new material and talk with like minded people. So thank you! ⛤
Thanks for your appreciation!!
I’m glad you find it useful! I wanted to have a space for Pagans and Witches with common interests to discuss and learn no matter how far apart we live!
Feel free to create a topic sharing anything you are learning or want to learn! You’re very welcome. Blessed Be!
@Jamaal Wow how awesome is that?? I love it!! I heard about Ukraine and other people in other countries that make them. That one is beautiful and so majickal feeling!
That is Amazing! You did a perfect job!
I’ve yet to make one…
Same here, @Rowan! But looking at everyone’s gorgeous besoms is so inspiring… although even in the new apartment I feel like I’m already running out of space and would have nowhere to keep it!
I would love to make my own someday, ideally out of heather branches if I can manage it!
When there’s little space I always look to the Walls…
Heather branches would be beautiful! I’d like to make mine out of Willow branches, those are one of my favorite trees, and Spanish Oaks.
I found this and want to make it, its gorgeous, but still working on my goddess statue, she is almost ready to be baked… This is a normal broom all dolled up
That is beautiful! I am going to make some clay trinkets today of the Horned God and Triple Goddess, for my altar. Well, my somewhat of an altar, that is still a work in progress…lol
I just love this! You did an amazing job!
That sounds awesome! Have you been working with clay for a while? I’d love to see how they look!
Edit: I just realized you posted them here: Altars! Love to see yours! - #120 by Rowan They look great!! Did you make the other goddess statue too?
@Francisco, Thank you. Yes I made the Spiral Goddess one also, Im not sure if I like the colors I chose for painting though…lol.
