Hello!

I’ve been meaning and meaning to set up my alter + do some other little things, specifically on a Sunday for its corresponding intentions (per the witch’s book of correspondences: action, ambition, attraction, authority, beauty, confidence, fame, freedom, friendship, healing, hope, justice, light, money, pride, prosperity, protection, spirituality, success). Unfortunately, due to time getting away from me, a forgetful foggy brain, and lack of energy due to chronic illness, I keep either forgetting or not being able to do it on a Sunday.

Are days of the week that important? Or is actually getting it done the important part?

Intention is always most important, not mayter when you chose to do something. There are traditional rulers of each say based on the planets and their associated deities:

Monday - Moon - journalling/reflection, matters of the home, family time, intention setting, divination, healing and fertility spells.
Tuesday - Mars - pursue passions, to do list activities, exercise, physical activity, new projects, protectjon ans courage spells.
Wednesday - Mercury - learning, studying, communication, job applications, local travel, social media, reading. Communication and safe travel spells.
Thursday - Jupiter - travel planning, booking holidays, exploring different cultures, meeting spiritual teachers abdleaders, developing spiritual beleifs, success abd prosperity spells.
Friday - Venus - dating, weddings, concerts, creative activitirs, buying flowers, gardening, shopping, love and fertility dpells.
Saturday - Saturn - harvesting, planning and organising, schedules and goals, professional growth, cleansing and banishment spells.
Sunday - Sun - outdoors, mindfulness, meditation, family time, self development, leadership, assertiveness, inspiration and success spells.

I don’t necessarily follow things on set days. It’s up to you and what u want. But it won’t hurt anything to do it whenever is convenient for you. Life’s busy so I do things when I find time or what not

I know this feeling well. Last year was a bugbear for me in this respect. I learned to do what I could when I could with all the positive intentions I could muster. May you be feeling better soon!

I get where you’re coming from. I suffer from 3 different chronic illnesses and it’s not always to do what I want when I want.

I practice chaos magick. Which in a nut shell means days of the week, moon cycles, time of day, none of that matters. Having exactly the ingredients for a spell, don’t matter. I make substitutions and use what I have.

So, with that being said, your intention is the most important thing in casting or altar prep, or whatever you need done. Each practitioner practices to the beat of their own drum. Do what feels good to you. :purple_heart::purple_heart::purple_heart:

I think that while doing things on a specific day of the week or Moon can be a good help, it’s more important about your intentions and actually doing the spell. It’s all up to you! So spell away, my dear! You got this!

For me, the days of the week are only important if I’m choosing to boost the magic I’m working. You can do any kind of magic on whatever day you want, during whatever moon phase, during whatever astrological timing, etc. The correspondences for the days of the week and the moon phases (and probably a lot of other stuff, too) are more modern inventions in the craft. Historically, if someone needed a healing spell done it didn’t matter what day it was done it - it was done when needed.

As long as you’re putting the intention behind it then the day of the week doesn’t really matter :woman_shrugging:

Great question, and I see you’ve already got some great advice from the coven!

I personally would agree with the second part - a cast spell is always going to have a better chance of working than a spell that was never cast. Taking action to manifest is, in my eyes, much more important than the timing or even the ingredients.

That being said, all of those extra things have the potential to enhance and help direct your spell, and you, as the caster, get to choose which influences/correspondences you draw into your magick.

If you are interested in working with magickal energies of the days of the week to help enhance your spells, there’s a guide with recommended spells and correspondences for each day. I’ll drop it here in case you’re interested!

Very nice to meet you @SusannahsDaughter , I’m Debra and last year I was so busy looking :eyes: after my husband, making sure he ate, got him to his treatments and looking after the house, yard, doing all the driving, doing all the grocery shopping. I tried to work spells on certain days for certain spells, well next thing I found out was that I was not manifesting my spells, so I read about it and thought why can’t I do my spells and manifest my intentions on any day that works best for me. But if I really want to boost my manifestation I follow it on the day suggested.
I can see that you got some really good advice from the others of the coven, so don’t worry about what day it is, worry about getting your spells and manifesting done when it’s good for you. :candle::grinning:
