Does anyone know this symbol?

Hi everyone

I was at my monthly reiki session yesterday and, at the end, the reiki master said that she saw a symbol that she had never seen before. She drew it for me and ive put it below:

She said she has no idea what it is or means and neither do I. All she said was that it was being drawn in sand like with a stick. It started to appear when she was at my 3rd eye. The straight lines appeared when she was ay my knees and feet.

Does anyone have an idea or suggestion about what it is or what it means?

Thanks

Alan

I’m surprised, Alan!

The parallel lines remind me of the water heiroglyph. The eye is Ra’s or Horus’- or the letter R. These are drawn by someone with little detail, like a child just learning. I have no clue about the one line on the side, but you have more access than I do.

I’m guessing the third eye is when the eye appeared? Do you work with Ra as much as Horus? He may be seeking to be understood or confirming your level of understanding. Then again, Horus may be affirming connection, too. It may be a shield you’ve put into place.

The parallel lines may mean a flood or a pair of Ns. Have you been getting too much or too little exercise? Go with the flow.

The one line on the side may be an attempt at a crook or flail. Have you mastered something lately? It could be a C, S, or X. I also get drawn to the idea of a cartouche.

I see too what @georgia sees regarding the eye of Osiris, the two lines again parallel, the two paths we walk, one in the mundane and one in spirit.

The straight line, I’m going on intuition here and my own path, could either be a staff for support and guidance or the rune :isaz:
If it’s the rune, then this means to pause, not to force your way through something.

In summary, what I see is that following your Egyptian path, the eye is to protect you in your journey or with something your pursuing, and you are being guided by one of your gods, this comes across both with the eye (all seeing), the dessert, and the stick which could be a staff to support you. Maybe consider pausing for a short time to look around and contemplate where you’ve been and where you want to go. :isaz: can also represent a bridge that crosses between two worlds which would match the parallel lines.

Just my view. I feel the eye is the key to understanding this, how does this fit with Egyptian symbols. :green_heart:

Just popped in my head but Ra and Anubis, not sure why, you would know more :person_shrugging:

I was confused because she said it was a fish head, not an eye. She also knows what the eye of horus looks like so would have been able to point that out to me. Thats what threw me off.

However, I didn’t consider it as being a combination of hieroglyphs. Need to get the book out.

Now that’s interesting. The fish head can symbolise spirituality, and the single line matches the staff or sceptre and the parallel lines a river.

Here’s what I found

Edit link didn’t take you to the right place, so here’s the screenshot

Is she reaching out? I’m excited now :flushed::grin:

Yeah, me too! A Goddess of fishing?!? It will be that much harder to get the guys off the river, now!
:joy:

Is your larder stocked @Cosmic_Curiosity ? What are the local predictions for winter?

Oooh exciting. I will need to do some digging as i have never heard of her.

Thank you for your input and for pointing me in a direction that makes some sense.

You’ve already got some top-notch ideas from Georgia and Tracy!

If I can add a few more potential ideas onto the pile, the lines looked similar to an Ogham card Megan drew in the Weekend Divination thread:

Not sure how the circle fits in there, though. A leaf at the base of a tree, perhaps? A rabbit hole, like in Alice and Wonderland? Hmm

With a creative eye, looking at what you’ve drawn, I saw a golf flag marking a hole on the course :golf: A goal, perhaps? Something to work towards and aim for?

Just a few extra thoughts on the table! Whatever meaning the symbol holds for you, I hope you’ll be able to figure out its message

Good luck and blessed be!

It has me stumped. I have been looking througn my hieroglyph lists and cant seem to put something meaningful together from it. The books actually suggest that the “eye” is not an eye due to the absence of a pupil…it is actually the hieroglyph for a mouth. It means the sound r or the word mouth which was pronounced ra…oh maybe it is a sign from Ra.

Could the weird oval shape be the hieroglyph of the mouth? The line reminds me of the folded cloth or the nuber one  Could it be a depiction of a number? :woman_shrugging:t2:

What about trying to look at it from a different viewpoint. Rather than each symbol, maybe there’s a story in there. As a story, I see a person crossing a river in a boat. :person_shrugging:

You’ve gotten some really great suggestions - I have no clue what this could be in terms of occult or religious symbology. When I look at it, I see a music note :musical_note: but I’m not sure what the two lines would be because that would make the music note incorrect
