Doing spells but have no herbs and barely any essential oils

Can you still do spells if you don’t have all the ingredients (like the Farewell Ritual)? (I am still A beginner and don’t have everything )

Yes you can cause it’s all about the intention

Also I like to experiment by substitute items and ECT.
And see how the effects are

I buy a lot of my herbs and candles from the dollar store. If the spell calls for an herb you don’t have, rosemary can be substituted for any herb.

Yep. Most witches get their common herbs from the grocery or dollar store. But really, as the talented @john1 said, it’s all about intent.

Hello @ashlea,

I’m just going to second what others have kindly already offered - yes! You can absolutely still cast spells without all of the listed ingredients :grinning: :+1:

If you have some ingredients, you could use substitutions. This is the act of switching out a missing spell ingredient for a corresponding ingredient that you have. There was a previous challenge about substitutions - I recommend reading the entries by the coven to see how they exchange ingredients.

If you don’t have any ingredients, no worries! You could cast a spell in the virtual altar. Here is a link:

It is even possible to do spells with no physical presence at all - not material nor virtual. This is done by making your Inner Temple. Here is how to make and use your Inner Temple:

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you all the best with casting your spell! Blessed be, Ashlea :sparkles:
