Merry Meet! I would like to make some eclipse water during the blood moon on Sunday. I read the article here on spells 8 about how to make it. It says you must leave the water out during the penumbral eclipse times. When I looked into that, this occurs in the middle of the sunlit day where I am. So I’m not sure whether to wait until nightfall to make the eclipse water instead. Advice?
I understand how it can be kind of confusing, it’s okay! There’s no right or wrong answer here because there’s no one “rule” for eclipses in witchcraft. It will all depend on what you believe and how you practice.
For example, in my practice, I have to be witness to the eclipse to work with its energy. This means that if the moon is on the other side of the Earth and I can’t see it during the eclipse, then I don’t work with the eclipse energy. By the time the moon gets to me, the eclipse will be over and it’s regular Full Moon.
Other practitioners might feel differently, so it will be important for you to determine how you feel about it and what you believe.
Merry Meet Sixela,
I make sun and moon water on a daily basis; however, I avoid the eclipse, because to me, it is a disturbance, and I do not want that energy in my water. To make my water, I use the sun and the moon (whether I can see it or not, other than an eclipse). I put some water in a jar, and for day, add an amethyst say my chant and place it on the South window sill; for night, (I pour my water to drink through the night) I refill with water, place the moonstone in it, then say my chant and place it on the S. sill again, to drink in the morning, and start all over. Since I’ve been doing this daily, I am looking much better (many people have commented on it). So, that’s all I can say about that. Do what feels right for you, ‘cause there is no right nor wrong in how we do what we do.
Merry Part, Lady Gene
