Already picked out my challenge but I’ve been baking a blender berries and cream cake, green beans with garlic and sesame, found a great deal on petite sirloin to grill and am making sauteed mushrooms to top the steak for the SO’s birthday dinner tonight.

Been a wee bit busy today  , but have a perfect :sun: :droplet: spell I’ll do tomorrow!

Challenge Entry - Moon, Sun, and Other Magickal Waters

Sowilo & Flow

I chose to combine runes, wood, sun and a lake for my challenge.

I picked an uncarved stave (and happened to pick White Ash), carved off some bark, and drew :sowilo:. I also gathered some of the black-eyed susans that were still blooming by my mailbox.

I went down to the lake and returned to my spell spot.

I plucked the petals from the flowers and set them in the water and watched them float away then I dipped the Sowilo rune stave in the water and said

Sowilo, sun’s light, move with the current. May your guidance flow into my life.

Then I held it to the sun and, leaving the lakeside, charged it in the sun.

It’s now sitting on my altar.

WITCH CHALLENGE - Moon, Sun, and Other Magickal Waters

Challenge entry Garnet

Whose idea was this one?

After putting together 4 pages and some plagiarism, I decided I wasn’t gonna live

long enough to do this justice.

.

OK that’s what I found in a book series “Healing your Body, Mind and Spirit” It was published in the 70’s and I picked through what I had to find this much.

Making magic water is one thing, but you need to decide what kind of water you need.

That was fun, wasn’t it?I couldn’t find spell and I regret that.

I had problems staying on task with this challenge

Blessed be

And keep living free

We had a bad storm come through so I grabbed a jar and put it outside to collect rain. It was raining so hard it didn’t take long to fill the jar. So for my challenge I made storm water.

@Mystique that is such a pretty jar! I love using canning jars in my practice. It feels so hearth-witchy :witch_cauldron: :jar:

My challenge entry

The story of my first magickal water jar

:jar:

I have always wanted to make moon / sun / enchanted water, but never have. I’ve sat out crystals and special jewelry during bright sunlight or full moons occasionally but I really do want to make more of a conscious effort to do things like that. :full_moon: :sun: :gem_stone:

So I’m using this challenge as my motivator!

This was my original cup on my altar. It was used initially as a ‘well’ or water offering for Brighid, who helped guide me more deeply into my witchcraft practice. After I moved on from specifically working with her (the energy shifted to Freyja / Frigga) I kept using this little jar for daily house spirit / fairy offerings :fairy: using a small lid for little food offerings nearby.

You can see all of the hard water stains from using it over hot summers in the past couple years! :fire:

After officially practicing Wicca :pentagram: for more than a year with my daughter, we collected a small copper chalice. It was too small for our rituals so I used it as our new spirit offering cup.:cup_tarot:

I sat the original, well-used jar to the side, not sure what it would be used for… but I listened to my intuition, telling me it would have another good use in time. :jar:

Sure enough this challenge popped up. I initially wished I had a jar just for this purpose. But wait! What about this little jar I’d used for so long? Oh if only it had a lid… I must have thrown the original one away by now.

Something told me to check our silverware drawer, where I store jar lids for several purposes. I had a pull to reach for a very specific one.

I turned it over…

It just so happened to be the exact lid from this jar.

I took that as a sign that this was meant for our enchanted water. I plan on using water from our sink and leaving it out on our windowsill. Which moon phase? I’d always wanted to use the full moon, but I love the idea of exploring other phases. :waxing_crescent_moon: :full_moon: :waning_crescent_moon:

Intentions for this jar

I plan on starting by filling it with water and charging it the night before our rituals. The next one is Mabon :maple_leaf: which also happens to fall near a new moon :new_moon: how exciting! I think those energies will work well together.

Thank you for inspiring me to finally start working with water in this way!

I’m the future I think it would be neat to have even tinier jars with tight lids that I could charge and label for different zodiac signs and moon phases. But for now I am going to keep it simple. That always ends up being the most powerful option in my practice, anyway. :witch_cauldron: :pentagram: :sparkles:

I’ve never made Moon Water before! I’ve always had an interest in it though!

I have this Moon Dust… I’ve never been sure what to do with it? Can this be used in Moon Water?

Actually, can someone tell me what Moon Dust is….

To the best of my knowledge, moon dust is an ingredient one can use in spells. There are a few recipes around to craft it. Let me see if I can find some!

Here they are:

Rune Water

Adding runes to pretty much anything is standard practice for rune workers, put them on our tea, our jewelry, draw them on ourselves, they’re are so versatile but I thought I’d share a little extra magic into creating rune water.

Rune water is seasonal so the lovely @Artemisia has covered :sowilo: I thought as we’re entering the cozy season I would add a bit of hailstorm and thunder :high_voltage::cyclone::cloud_with_lightning_and_rain:

The Ritual to Thor

When that storm is swirling fiercely around you, the sky is black, the wind is strong, you may be lucky enough to get hail too. Grab your mack, a container that can withstand stormy conditions and an offering. Go outside.

No candles, Thor will blow them out anyway.

Draw with your finger onto the ground :haglaz: and :thurisaz: as a bind rune.

Put your container on the ground on top of your bindrune. Pour your offering out to Thor (he loves beer, flowers, a portion of your dinner) :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Now stretch out your hands to the storm, deep into your gut shout out!

Hail ver thoo noo Tor

Hail ver thoo noo Hagalaz

Hail ver thoo noo Turisaz

(Hail to you Thor, Hail to you Hagalaz etc)

Not only does it feel great to yell at a storm, it pulls in that magnificent energy into your water. Let the storm drench you, enjoy that wild free energy.

Leave your container with the storm. When the storm is done, you’ll have some beautiful storm energised water for those fired up spells. I separate mine out into freezer bags, to freeze in portions and draw the rune :isaz: onto each bag.

Enjoy and don’t be afraid to get wet.

lol I’m sorry this made me chuckle. :cloud_with_lightning_and_rain:

Very creative ritual! Thank you for sharing! And I love the gif  one of my favorite movie series.

@Artemisia I meant to comment on your beautiful work with the rune stave, I’ll need to try something like that myself someday!

It’s good to laugh. I’ve had sooo many candles destroyed by Thor, I give up. :person_shrugging::rofl:. Thank you. :green_heart:

Challenge Entry

I wasn’t sure what I was going to do for this challenge. I don’t typically use any kind of water in my spells and I’ve only made moon water a couple of times.

The first time, I used water from the rain barrel and realized afterward that I couldn’t drink that water if I had wanted to. So it was used to water plants on my Witch’s Garden.

The second time I used filtered water from our whole house filtration system. At first it was just in a mason jar, but then I decanted it into a special moon water bottle I got on Etsy. I used that in my bath today when I had a cleansing bath.

As the tub was filling, I poured in the moon water and chanted:

Powers of Moon Water, I call on thee

Bless this bathwater and set my spirit free

With each drop, I invite the light

Purity and Peace in this sacred rite

As I bathe, let my worries cease

In this moment I find my peace.

(I found the original online and changed some of the wording as I was having my bath in the daylight hours, not under a moon.)

That’s beautiful Greenbriar! The next time I come to your house, can I borrow you tub? Just kidding!
